En Patmo holiday home — Hotel in Patmos Municipality

This really is a wonderful house. We have stayed here twice - once in 2021 for a short stay in the beautiful studio, as well as a longer and unforgettable working holiday last month at the sublime upstairs apartment. There is a lot of love and history in this house, a classic Patmian property (high ceilings, thick whitewashed walls, occasional exposed stone) once owned by a shipping captain and which has been sensitively and tastefully restored in recent years by the same family. Katerina, the housekeeper, is such a warm and welcoming host. The location is perfect – private, peaceful, almost hidden, yet just two minutes from the buzzy and cafe-filled main square of Skala. There is a view from every window – opening the bedroom shutters and being greeted with the view of the dazzlingly white three-domed church of Agios Ioannis was particularly memorable. Above all, though, what we will remember is the terrace and the many hours spent taking in the wonderful views – palm trees, roof tops, the Monastery of the Apocalypse, Chora. I’m very reluctant to leave a review as want to keep this place a secret. We have been traveling around Greece for 24years and this is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed.
