Glykanisos Patmos — Restaurant in Patmos Municipality

We had the great pleasure of finding this gem in Patmos. The service is exceptional and friendly, and the food was amongst the best in whole Greece! Don't think twice, go to Glykanisos if you are in Patmos!!!! It is a great restaurant with a beautiful relaxed atmosphere. Christina was charming and helpful in making our food selections. The appetizers were exquisite and plenty, and the entrees among the best in our whole trip through Greece. Try as many as you can, you won't be disappointed! Christina and Paris made us feel like family while we dined, so much so that we returned the same day for dessert! Georgia (sister in the beautiful shop next door) was also a pleasure to meet. Gorgeous food and lovely, welcoming and efficient service. While other, more Trip Advisor-famous restaurants on Patmos seem overstretched and expect reservations, this fabulous and stylish place in the centre of Skala makes a refreshing change. The menu ranges from traditional favourites to original but authentic dishes you don't see on most menus, all beautifully cooked. We enjoyed watermelon salad, beef and tomatoes oven-baked with cheese, pork with honey, and chickpeas simply stewed with rosemary, as well as freshly baked bread. Everything...

We had three dishes: Greek meat balls Some cheese heated in the oven Moussaka

Meat balls and cheese was great and alone could have received better rating on their own. However, the Moussaka was terrible. First of all it was not probably re-heated, so it was luke-warm at best. Furthermore, I have never had a moussaka where the top (bechamel) was so dense that it could seperste from the rest in one piece, stand up vertically on its own and bounced back from the plate when purpously dropped. ...and not very...
