Stayed in Kallisti Hotel for 6 relaxing nights and very happy with the choice we made.
The hotel is located just outside the crowded and noisy Potos, up on a hill, with a good access way (which only needs a bit of touch and rework on the first 10-15 m from the main road).
Surrounded by olive trees, its uphill position gives the guests a beautiful overview over the Potos’ bay, and a magnificent view of the sunset, then of the Potos & Limenaria night lights. You can hear the city’s nightclubs in the distance, but they are not disturbant at all...
The rooms are large, with panoramic huge windows, immense balconies, well cleaned and maintained interior equipment.
The pictures on the website are real and the rooms are just as we saw them on the site. Therefore, i will only focus on what is not on the website.
The rooms are protected by insect protection nets on all doors and windows except the main entry. We have had a couple of mosquitos in the room though (1-2 at a time), i assume they came in during the cleaning, or when the kids went in & out from the balcony. No bees or wasps though, or any other kind of insects.
Any minor disturbance in the room was addressed immediately, making the stay here comfortable, pleasant and enjoyable.
The hotel’s pool is beautiful, not very very big, not deep (only 1.2m), yet kind of cold even during the hot August days.
The ACs were working perfecly, making the sleep possible in the afternoon hours (when the sun reached the balcony & windows side) when the car thermometer was reading 38 C, or at night when we had 30 C.... But the AC works only with the smartcard door key in and the windows & doors closed! So it only works when you’re in the room, as you get one smartcard at check-in.
In terms of furniture: the main bed and the extendable sofa bed were perfect: good matress, firm enough to support people with different preferences in a good, relaxing and restful sleep the kitchen area was equiped with stuff, but we did not use them apart from serving cofees we prepared with our own cofee machine, and for cooling water into the fridge & keeping fruis fresh. the bath: walk-in shower with 2 modes, 2 sinks, hairdryer & external window, well maintained & cleaned daily only one clothes closet, in one room, not very efficient, unless you store stuff on hangers. We would have preferred shelves, to be able to store clothers in a way that is easyer to find. in this closet, the room’s safe box is hidden. To use it, get you safe key from the reception. An additional fee of 2 eur per day is charged for this service, but i think it’s worth the expense! The safe isn’t too large, but large enough for documents, papers, envelopes, juwlery etc. as said before, rooms have huge panoramic windows, with reflective coating on the outside, and with heavy courtains on the inside. Combined with the AC, they do a good job to keep the light & heat out. plenty of parking space available, a few places under wine leaves shadow, some just underneath your window. plenty of trees around the hotel: olive trees, fig trees, lemon trees, etc
The food at the hotel restaurant is very good as well.
Breakfast is diverse, can be served either inside, either outside on the terrace, under the wine leaves shaddow. Some parts if the breakfast were present every day of our stay, some others changed. All in all, we enjoyed the breakfast everyday and we think it was a good option.
We did not take the evening meals from the HB option, as we were mostly out, however we did try the a-la-carte options one night and it was excellent!
The only downside on eating outside were the bees and wasps that were looking for food. Nothing bad happed but they may become quite annoying sometimes.
The personnel: really really nice and helpful, providing advices about things to visit, beaches, prices, etc! We loved them all.
They all speak really good english, and are very polite and friendly, making us feel we’re not in cold hotel, but in a warm and friendly company, where we would surely...
