Time to take our order 1 hour, time to bring our order 1 our. TIME to give us our bill 30 minutes. The bill comes with a surprise because the prices shown DON’T have taxes so you will pay more than what’s in the menu!!!! Tables extremely close… if crowded you would bump into the persons at the other tables. The food was ok… not amazing, just regular Greek dishes, seafood for 2 very overpriced comparing to other taverns: French fries for half a person😅, 2 shrimps, 7 anchovies, 8-10 mussels , a few rings of calamari and a fish €40+taxes. The most expensive we’ve had in Thassos. Desert isn’t for everyone. I wouldn’t normally have a problem that they were serving free desert only to the tables they wanted—even if we ordered the same things—but we were with our kid and he saw the cakes… and we got to tell him that he will have cakes as well when he would finish eating. But they didn’t serve us any and he was very very disappointed (he’s 5). They also didn’t have any kind of sweets on the menu and the whole service lasted so long (over 3 hours) that the bakeries were closed by the time we left so he was really upset. I don’t understand what’s the fuss about this tavern. We went there on recommendation but it...

I orderes 2 dishes, creme mushrooms and potatoes in clay pot. The waiter informed me they only have 1 dish, the mushrooms. 5 minutes later, he told me there are no mushrooms. So far 2 of my orders are not available... at 19:00, just as the evening begins. I proceed to order grilled shrimps in tomato sauce. 15 minutes later, shrimps are resented infront of me, uncleaned and the tomato sauce is everywhere. You are giving me the task, to clean the shrimps: As the dish is at ~50-60 C degrees hot; At this point the tomato sauce is an additional barrier for me, to clean the shrimps as cleaning shrimps that are drenched in tomato sauce might cause my fingers to slip and fling sauce across the table or towards my clothes; The leftover uncleaned shrimp body parts, some of them remained in the tomato sauce which SHOULD BE part of the meal but it's now a red viscous graveyard for leftover shrimp body parts. 17 euro, WASTED on me QA-testing your food and it comes of the expense from my own pocket. So much for this place calling itself a restaurant. They have no proper HUMAN FOOD to offer you. You need to fight for your food, even after it's cooked and served....

Very interesting tavern, we stopped as a group of 8 people searching for a good place to eat, I have some things to note: Do not get too much appetisers, you won’t be able to eat your main course after 😉 (I recommend getting a Greek salad or/ and Bouyourdi for a bigger group) Be careful about the weather because if it’s raining the water will be somewhat dripping as there isn’t any seating inside Ask for the fish prices before ordering. You won’t regret it because when we got to the check the fish was 20-24 € each 😳 I didn’t rate the serving 5 or 4 stars because it was really busy when we got here, this is based solely on my experience, it can vary depending on the day Don’t pay attention to the kitchen (yes it’s messy) as every kitchen in Greece is like that (you’re gonna see it when going to the bathroom), you won’t be in vacation forever, enjoy the food without stress, get to detox at home (especially for my Eastern Europeans, we represent like 80-90% of the tourists in Thassos 😆) That’s all I’ve got to say, enjoy your vacation and don’t go just to the restaurants, do something...

Excellent food, well worth a visit. But get used to the wasps as soon as possible. I recommend it!

Klimataria is an authentic Greek tavern with an emphasis on seafood. They serve lunch and dinner. I think they are among the better options on the Island. The grilled seafood (fish, squids, shrimps and octopus) is their stand-out speciality and they generally use fresh ingredients. We also loved the ntakos (a common Greek dish which is somewhat similar to panzanella salad) which was flavored with ouzo. The portions are generous and most items can serve as a full meal. The kitchen area is pretty chaotic and looks like a dorm room of a college student. The service is handled by teenagers but they handle the rush hours reasonably well. English is the way to communicate unless you are conversant in Greek. The staff members' English skills are limited but you can find a way to get along. They do not take reservations but we had no problem in securing a table. On the downside they need to improve the hygiene in the rest rooms.
