Klio Guesthouse great place to stay. Every effort made by Klio to ensure that your stay is very enjoyable and we were to feel we were part of her family. ||We loved the homemade bread and turopita (cheese pie), and home-produced white wine (fragrant country-style - almost elderflower bouquet)||Amazing views down to Volos and across to distant snow-covered mountains. ||It was fun to discover the Kalderimi (donkey paths) to get around the village. Be prepared with stout walking shoes, stick etc. ||A 4x4 is the preferred vehicle to get up and down the approach roads especially if it is damp. ||What didn't we like? Hmm. Can't think of anything apart from our need to be fitter to cope with the gradients.||Not a big choice in local mini-markets. Good for bottled fruits and glyki. ||Not a place to come to if you want lively nightlife. ||Very quiet location - some barking dogs in the day but no problem at night. Good quality and in good working order window shutters if you prefer a darkened room at night or to keep out the sun in summer.||All-in-all - strongly...
Read moreWe spend last weekend in Portaria in Klio's Guest House. Rooms are very nice and clean with a nice view and a small kitchen. Klio knows the area very well and she has made some great suggestions for food and "tsipouro". Finally the guest house has an amazing BBQ place, and I would strongly suggest to go there well prepared, in order to use the BBQ and make the most out of your stay. Unfortunately we did not know, but we are already planning our Easter...
Read moreThe best guesthouse I' ve ever stayed! Klio and Achilleas are a young couple who love their job, which is to make their guests enjoy an amazing time in their newly designed guesthouse. Our room was very spacious, included everything we could need, beautiful(!!!), warm and with a great view! Generally it is worth staying there if you require to have a peaceful time and relax with whoever whenever! I enjoyed so much my staying mostly because Klio was extremely helpful with everything we needed(even a ride!). So friendly and so discreet at the same time. Its everything someone could ask for during his holiday, and for so little money! Klio keep on!!! We are looking forward to see you and Achilleas...
