At the very edge of Mikro Papigo, just off the start of the trail to Dracolimni, Mikro Papigo 1700 hotel stands, comprising a few renovated traditional houses and a new impressive central building.|With utmost respect to the traditional architecture, it boasts a fresh elegant look, with bald design details in the welcoming common areas. The village itself is amazing; serene and charming, just a few minutes’ drive from the more popular (and crowded) Papigko and in a region with a wealth of sightseeing activities. |We visited for a couple of days last summer and the room we booked for our family of 3 was located on the ground floor in one of the renovated houses; it was spacious and stylish, although kind of dark, with a super comfortable bed and a quite uncomfortable sofa bed.|The breakfast served at the Veranda 1700 restaurant is not to be missed; it is exquisite, offering an extended variety of savoury and sweet options, mainly drawing from the local culinary tradition, and based on locally sourced produce -coupled with breathtaking views to the surrounding mountains. The restaurant is a destination on its own merit, and it's worth a visit for lunch or dinner, for one to capture, in a more comprehensive way, their innovative approach.|There is, obviously, a spa, with sauna and steam facilities and an indoor pool, which although a little bit tired at the time of our visit, was reinvigorating, after a day of sightseeing.|Last, mind that walking from the parking lot, at the village entrance, to the hotel is challenging, as the cobblestone street is quite steep. Thus, if you are heavy with luggage, or not in the mood to walk, you may call the hotel to send an ATV to...
Read moreNestled in the charming village of Mikro Papigko, this unique hotel offers a serene and unforgettable experience. Upon arrival, you leave your car at the church’s parking lot and climb a few steps through the picturesque village to reach the hotel. It may be a bit of a trek, but the reward is worth every step.
One of the highlights is Verantas 1700, a bar and breakfast area with a breathtaking panoramic view that captures the essence of the region. Breakfast is a traditional spread that you can enjoy while soaking in the scenery—it’s the perfect start to the day.
The spa is an intimate experience, allowing a maximum of four people at a time, which keeps it private and relaxing. Reservations are recommended to ensure availability. The spa offers a sauna, hammam, and massage services, but for an extra touch of luxury, I recommend booking the suite. Located just above the spa, this suite includes a private jacuzzi, perfect for a solo relaxation session.
While the hotel’s beauty is hard to describe in words, one small drawback is the price when booking online, which can feel a bit steep. However, the welcoming staff truly enhances the experience, offering kind assistance and even sending a groom with an ATV to help transport luggage from the parking area.
Overall, Mikro Papigko 1700 is a gem for those looking to escape and immerse themselves in the tranquility and beauty of this...
Read moreStay away from this hotel NO AC VERY SMALL ROOMS NO WINDOW SCREENS FOR INSECTS DIFFICULT ACCESS FROM THE STREET 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 I wouldn't recommend this hotel especially in the summer! We were constantly sweating & my poor Cat who was staying with us suffered a severe dehydration crisis that put her life in danger. “There is no AC beacause of UNESCO regulations not to alter the exterior of the hotel”... the management told us. They gave us a floor fan witch took too much space & didn’t do much of cooling either ! We asked to cancel our 3rd day because our cat was in critical condition and needed to be in the city where we found a vet. 1,5 hours away . Of course we wouldn’t be driving back & forth to the hotel with a sick pet! BUT The management charged us for the third day even though the health condition of our Cat was a result of the lack of AC & the severe heat. No compassion for us or the Cat! We had no official booking BUT THEY DEMANDED THE FULL PAY FOR THE THIRD DAY nevertheless I propose to the hotel there are so many indoor AC units nowdays that are a NECCESSITYfor the hottest summer so far! 38 Celcious! feels like 40 at least ! Plus the hotel isn’t easily accessible …you need to walk 10 min uphill in the scorching heat . Find something more accessible with AC . Summer in Greece...
