We stayed in Dias Guesthouse for 3 nights during our vacation in Greece last spring. The region is beautiful, very different from the stereotyped Greece. The blue rivers, the high mountains, the green trees and old arch bridges are wonderful. So, this stoned-wall guesthouse was a great addition to our experience. What I will say can be funny, but what I remember the most are the sunlight over the stone ceiling during sunset and the yogurt they served us for brekfast = )||The owner and his family/staff was very attentive and helpful. Dias is one of the few restaurants and accomodation in Mikro Papingo and, I think, one of the most busy too.||The rooms were good and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and well-served. We had some of our meals at their restaurant: good experience (try lamb chops)! The prices and rates are not expensive and the service is like we were home.||The ambience was very calm and relaxing. If you came for hiking, they can sell you some maps, one of the best I've heard. Before going, I bought mine online, but I could have done it at place. From the village, one can hike several good trails. We didn't do the hardest one to the high mountain, but the two trails we took didn't disappointed us.||If you come by car, which I think it is the best way to do so, take notice it is a little tricky to park in the village. Don't worry, there is large areas to do so. But take instructions from Dias in advance.||I think the only downside of the village (not of the guesthouse itself) is the strong smell of "burned oil" that the fancy golf-cars from the fancy resort leave on the streets. But this simple fact cannot make you give up coming to this charming...

Read moreI had lunch at the restaurant yesterday and it was a wonderful experience! It was a sunny autumn day so it was lovely sitting outside. I ordered the Metsovonian cheese (I may have the name slightly wrong) and chicken soup with local white wine. The food was just wonderful - I enjoyed every bite and the scenery surrounding me had me very happy also, the mountains and village rooftops as a backdrop made for a special dining experience. The service was modest and understated (but by no means bad) - I just mean the waiters were quiet, polite, attentive and friendly. I found this very endearing and to be honest later found it fairly common in other Zagori village restaurants… a lovely change from the often more extroverted, colorful (yet also awesome) characters that manage restaurants elsewhere in Greece! I very much enjoy all the colours and flavors as I travel around this...
