This place was such a beautiful find. The hotel is family run and I felt so welcomed straight away. It was my first time travelling solo and I had come from Ithaca for this next part of my trip. Dimitra the manager was so helpful even before I arrived and all the staff were just gorgeous. I had great chats with Petros too- one of the newer members of staff. My room was so pretty and quiet although I did wake a couple of times from early risers next door. ||||The location is stunning although I made the mistake of not bringing a car. I had trips organised however to hike the gorge and go rafting so I was fortunate to be picked up and dropped off. I also wanted to see the high viewpoint of the gorge before I left. The owner didn't speak much English but was the most kind hearted man and actually took me there and back (taking more than an hour out of his day to do this). This was so sweet and the kind of kind act that you would only really find in family run places. ||||I ate in the restaurant - it was very quiet, with only myself eating one night although I had a good chat with the staff which was nice. The food was great, homemade and I loved the little touches like a free mini dessert and aperitif offered on arrival back from places or after the meal. On the Wednesday evening I didn't realise that the kitchen was closed so they recommended I headed down to a taverna 3 mins walk away -it was alot of fun with a local band and greek dancing. ||||This area is beautiful and the staff/ hotel are lovely. I also enjoyed the hot tub in the evening - wait until later on to make sure it is hot in temperature and it is gorgeous with the views. Thank you for making this a beautiful stay. A piece of my heart remains here! So much...

All teh staff were extremely friendly and helpful and Dimitra went as far as to drive to Ioannina to bring us something small we forgot at the hotel after we had left!|The building itself is nice and there's a wonderful balcony where one can have breakfast and take in the beathtaking views (look for photos of Ano Pedina on the net!) and the smell of Jasmine while having breakfast, or in fact at any other time.|There is a small restaurant on the ground floor which serves excellent food (breakfast and supper only), and a bar on the floor above which we did not try, but looked very good.|One word of warning, not about the hotel, but about the village. It is built on very steep slopes. EVERYTHING requires either going up or going down a steep slope, and even within houses, there are probably more stairs than you are used to. If you have any problems with fitness or mobility, take this into account. |Once again, thanks to all the staff at the Pirrion, and in particular to the...
