Our family’s stay at Cavo D’Oro Hotel was unfortunately not the relaxing holiday we had hoped for. While the location and breakfast were good, the positives sadly end there.||Room & Facilities|The accommodation was sold to us as an apartment, but what we received was not suitable for B&B use. There was no kitchen, no utensils, and certainly nothing that would justify the description we booked under. The room also showed signs of poor maintenance with damp patches, missing grout, and low-quality repair work throughout.||Cleanliness & Housekeeping|Housekeeping was below standard. On one occasion, a male member of staff entered our room without knocking, which was completely unacceptable and left us feeling uncomfortable.||Atmosphere & Staff Conduct|The general atmosphere of the hotel was unpleasant and at times depressing. Staff conduct was poor, lacking the professionalism and warmth expected at a 4-star property.||Pool & Hygiene Concerns|One of the hotel’s pools was in a very poor hygienic condition. The water was cloudy and dirty. I personally witnessed staff hosing debris into the pool and emptying ashtrays directly into the surrounding pool area—some of which ended up in the pool itself. Due to these conditions, we avoided using the hotel pool entirely and instead went to a nearby hotel.||Rating Discrepancy & Tourist Tax|On Jet2’s site, this property is rated 3 stars, yet we were charged 4-star tourist tax (€10 per night, €140 total). Based on the quality of the rooms and facilities, this hotel is absolutely not 4-star. I strongly believe the hotel is misleading guests by benefiting from the rating of its sister hotel, Cavo Di Suites, located on the same road.||Overall|We left feeling disappointed and misled. This hotel does not reflect a genuine 4-star standard, and I would not recommend it to families seeking a...
Read moreCheck in was stated as 3pm, we arrived early but were advised we could leave our cases there safely and come back for 3pm so went for food. At 3pm we were told one of our groups had their family room ready but the other 2 rooms were not ready but wouldn’t be long. At 4pm we were still waiting and the receptionist advised us quite abruptly that they would be ready ‘ in a bit’ but would not commit to a time. We had been told our room numbers so went to see if our rooms were being cleaned, they were both unlocked , not cleaned and no cleaners to be seen. We advised the receptionist of this and she contacted the head of cleaning. At 5pm we were still waiting and were now fed up since being up from 2.30am! We spoke to her again and with a lot of persuasion and politely making our feelings known we were offered free food and drink for the rest of the day and hotel sun lounger towels without the requirement of 20 euros deposit. We decided to change into our swimwear - using the hotel reception toilet which had a frosted glass door and then a hole in the door by the lock which didn’t work , enabling people to view anyone on the toilet! Just before 6pm we asked again and finally our rooms were ready! The rooms were ok , small but with air con and all facilities as advertised. Unfortunately due to the heat wave being experienced at the time there was a wasp infestation which made eating and drinking not the best at times until the sun went down but there was nothing anyone could do about this situation. The hotel was a 2 minute walk from the beach and all bars and restaurants were right outside and serving a good selection of food. A 5 minute taxi ride to the strip and 15minute ride to the water park so in an...
Read moreJust back after a week at Suneo club. We stayed A I and I have to day the food was lovely until about the 3rd day when it was being repeated. That said, the place is spotless, there was plenty food, staff in the restaurant were friendly and helpful and in the reception Emily and Magda and the security man ( I think his name is Pedro) were very nice and approachable. We hired out a room on our final day for €20 as we had a late flight. The room was lovely , however, I didn't like the step in the middle as if not used to it, could easily fall. A major concern for me though is the pool area (and I know this is an ongoing problem), is sun cream/oil on the steps of the pool. I witnessed a woman slipping early in the week on entrying the pool but she seemed fine after it. On Tuesday last May 29th I lay on a sun bed by the pool for one hour for the first time all week. It was very hot so aftet the hour I decided to go for a dip myself and slipped on the steps and completely lost my balance. A couple of bruises and pulled muscles later I'm recovering, however, more serious is the fact that I have been to my Dr twice since returning home with an ear canal infection. This is very painful and I have been told it can take months to heal. It should and would never have happened if there wasn't oil or cream on already slippery steps. I didn't see a shower outside the pool but am open to correction. I personally had no oil/cream on as was in the shade and didn't need it at 4 to 5 pm. Other than that I really enjoyed my time there and forgive me for being a bit off at the moment as I'm just in agony with earache and a...
