Uranus Sky Restaurant — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

Wanted somewhere special for our final meal for the holiday and wow did this place impress. We started with the octopus and mushrooms which were amazing. The wild mushrooms were so tasty and meaty and the octopus was delicious but I did find the pease pudding that came with it a bit of an odd choice. Mains we had the pork which was delicious and a very generous portion and the greek pasta with chicken which again was lovely but perhaps a little too much truffle oil was used as it started getting a bit sickly in the end. Prices are extremely reasonable, the value for money is unbelievable for the quality and workmanship you get.

The reason I've marked it down slightly is due to the service. We asked for bread which never arrived and after clearing our plates no one asked if we wanted dessert, which we actually wanted. We stayed a while to finish our wine and the waitress never checked back to see if there was anything else we wanted, nor did she check in during the courses to make sure everything was ok. As a fine dining restaurant I would expect this, especially as we were the only table occupied in the restaurant. The restaurant is also open to the elements so on a breezy night like we had it was definitely a bit chilly! Some glass to act as a partition and bit of protection against the elements won't hinder the views which are spectacular but may make it a more comfortable dining experience. My recent dining experience at Uranus Sky Restaurant was exceptional from start to finish. The service was impeccable—the staff was polite, discreet, and always eager to assist with a smile. Ambience was brilliant, staff were nice and the presentation of food was great. However, it is unfortunate that the taste let it down (especially in terms of the pricing reflecting the upmarket category they have placed themselves within).

Portion sizes could have been greater, but when you describe the main as being 'something to enjoy if you really like garlic', you do expect it to taste as such and it unfortunately did not even have undertones of this.

The starter was definitely better than the main in terms of taste, but again could have been more flavourful. But I was impressed by the welcome drinks, they were delicious and presented beautifully.

All-in-all, not the greatest experience as the taste let down the rest...
