Euro Hostal — Hotel in Guatemala City

Such a good place to stay.||||I bought a "fake ticket" to prove that I had a departure plan out of Costa Rica with the intention of cancelling it. So I bought this overpriced, crappy flight with a one-night layover in Guate City. Long store short, I forgot to cancel it and found myself stuck, yet another blunder on my part. I would probably have to take a cab to a hostel or pay for some airport hotel.||||Luckily, I found Euro Hostal! Free airport shuttle and minutes from the airport made the experience seamless. Once I arrived, they asked me when I would need the shuttle in the morning and showed me to my room. I laid down in the bed and fell asleep for the next 9 hours (nice real beds and linens - not bunk beds)! I got tea and a huge chocolate muffin before I left for my 6 AM flight and had the most relaxed flight to Nicaragua.||||English is limited and you might have to call them to schedule your airport pickup. 5 stars for the staff!, this hostel is worth the stay. Ramon, the host and Lily were especially attentive, smiling, patient and helpful with all of my questions and requests. I originally only intended to stay for the weekend but extended my stay an additional two days. This hostel is clase to the airport. My departing flight required I be at the airport at 4am. Ramon was alert and ready to take me to the airport promptly at the appointed hour. One thing you should be aware of if you're staying for more than one night, there's only one small restaraunt within walking distance. However, for a small charge this hostel does serve breakfast. We stayed one night because our flight from the airport left very early the next morning.||The staff were wonderful and so helpful! Even ordered a giant pizza for us when we arrived. ||The free shuttle was excellent arriving bang on time (which is really unusual in Guatemala). As we had given an extra hour for a delayed bus we arrived really early at the airport which meant the airlines decided to bump us to an earlier direct flight (our original flight was going to Nicaragua via Costa Rica - it was a lot cheaper) so that was awesome.||The rooms are pretty tiny but the shower is hot and clean.
