I dont understand how so many people are so positive about this place. My experience was completely the opposite. The host is very gumpy and unfriendly. The very first thing he said when we came in was that we had to pay. Apparently, I had accidentally booked a room (with a double bed) for 1 person instead of 2. He said we had to pay now (as we entered) for the extra person (which was 10 dollars a night) or that we should go elsewhere. He also refused helping us finding a taxi. The unfriendliness of this guy is just out of this world. After our 'welcome' by him, my partner and I felt very uncomfortable staying at the house ans we were glad that we only had to stay one night before going to the airport. Apart from that the house is inside a gated community which isn't written anywhere and makes it very difficult for taxis to enter. It's probably illegal as well because the guy only wants everything in cash and the guards gave our drivers a hard time entering every time. It wasn't known to them that there is an airbnb on this address. It really felt as if the owner only cares about the money. It's also very noisy with thin walls and airplanes flying over constantly. The shower was a joke, with a tiny stream of almost cold water only. The only positive thing I can mention was the bed. Which was comfortable. I wouldn't recommend anyone...
Read moreNice place, clean and spacious but unfortunately we had a very uncomfortable experience with the owner.
Although we read so many good reviews, the owner was very unfriendly and not welcoming at all from the moment we arrived for reasons that we still do not understand. He showed us the room and directly wanted to leave, didn’t introduce himself, we had to ask for every little detail (how to get to the airport, how we can exit the house, where fresh water for drinking is etc.)
Also, we wanted to cook some simple pasta and asked where the kitchen is and got the answer “kitchen is not included” although the booking information + pictures definitely include the use of a kitchen. After asking again and explaining we just want to cook noodles he said we can use the kitchen. A very friendly Colombian family was staying there as well and used the whole kitchen and loving room extensively to cook for the whole family so we felt super fooled and didn’t understand why we first were refused to use the kitchen.
It’s simply not nice if you arrive in a private house in a gated community and you feel super super unwelcome for reasons...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for a quick stopover the night before our flight home. We had a great week of adventure in Guatemala, and were coming to Mi Casa, Tu Casa from the beach at El Pardeon. ||||The location is very convenient to the airport in a gated community. Our driver had a bit of trouble finding it, but the owner actually got in his car and came to find us! The house is beautiful. And our host was warm and so accommodating. ||||Upon arrival he offered us water immediately, and then helped us get some take-out ordered for dinner. While we were getting settled, he setup a whole dinner setting in his kitchen for us. Then he showed us to the local tienda so we could get snacks for our trip home, and some wine for dinner. ||||The room was large and comfortable, and the proximity to the airport didn't have a lot of noise. Our flight was very early the next morning, so for $10 he offered to drive us to the airport, which was wonderfully convenient at 4:30am.||||I highly recommend staying here if you have an airport connection....
