Hostal Casa del Angel — Hotel in Guatemala City

The room and breakfast were ok however when I went to leave for the airport the only person in the house was an old confused lady.She had no idea that I needed to get to the airport but finally I explained to her, she called a taxi and said it would be 40 minutes then it wouldn't come at all. She offered to drive me for a lot of money--as if I would get in a car with her!!! Finally she said I could walk--yeah, really with 2 packs. Customer service was very poor.||It took about 10 minutes for the lady to answer the door bell. the person who was tending the hotel (owner) didn't even offer to open the door for me and just stood there watching me trying to get my luggage in. She was not so polite when I inquired about a making a call using the "desk phone" .||No phone in room to make taxi calls.||||I have stayed at much better places in Guatemala for what this place charges. Este hostal me ha gustado más que otros en los que me hospedado en la Col. Aurora II, Zona 13, Ciudad Guatemala, muy cerca del aeropuerto. Es muy accesible. La anfitriona (Janet) es muy amable y servicial. Las habitaciones son muy limpias y se nota que hay atención a los detalles. El desayuno de la mañana siguiente es agradable. Hay unas terrazas que dan generan un ambiente de descanso y amplitud. Un sitio tranquilo y acogedor.||Estuve una noche con mi esposa en una habitación doble con baño privado y nos gustó. La habitación incluye ventilador, armario, conexión Wi-Fi y televisión. La preparación y limpieza de las camas, así como de las cosas del baño, inspiran confianza y denotan una mayor calidad que en otros hostales.||Inicialmente, nosotros habíamos reservado por medio de booking.com y, a última hora, tuvimos que cambiar la fecha de la reservación porque la línea aérea que nos llevaba a Guatemala canceló unos vuelos y nos atrasamos 24 horas. Sin embargo, Janet reprogramó nuestra reservación sin problemas (vía WhatsApp). Vale añadir que este lugar permite reservar sin necesidad de hacer un pago por adelantado o tener que dar el número de tarjeta de crédito. El pago puede hacerse al llegar o al salir, en quetzales o en dólares.||Los únicos dos inconvenientes que encontramos es que, primero, si uno llega con maletas pesadas, no es fácil subirlas por la escalera hasta el segundo piso. Pero si uno no necesita abrirlas, puede dejarlas abajo y llevar sólo sus maletines y bolsos de mano; segundo, a diferencia de otros hostales de esta área, no está disponible el servicio de que a uno lo vayan a traer o a dejar al aeropuerto.
