TL;DR Don't go! Run down, staff don't care, won't honour your bookings. Booked this hostel weeks in advance as we were concerned about places getting booked up. Before we arrived we received lots of messages from other travellers on Hostelworld saying that they had turned them away/not accommodated their full stay and to not go there, but unfortunately it was too late. When we arrived in the evening they were confused about our booking but stated that 3 nights would be okay. However the next morning they told us we couldn't stay there because they had large groups coming for Semana Santa. We spoke to others staying there that this was happening to and it was clear that they were just kicking the tourists out and not honouring their bookings. (Probably because they had been offered more money due to everywhere being booked up). In fairness to them they eventually offered us to stay at their sister hotel, but the reviews for this were terrible (it also was showing as no availability so not sure that this would have worked). Luckily we managed to rearrange our transport and plans to leave Lanquin and I'm really glad in the end as the place was totally run down with live and squished cockroaches everywhere. They play crazy loud music at night and they don't care about...

We booked weeks before. Arrived and was assured our booking was fine after hearing other travellers complaining of being thrown out as they have double booked.

Only for first thing on the first morning as we headed out to Semuc Champey to be told we have to leave and they are no longer honouring our reservation. They offered us alternative accommodation in a cockroach infested hostel and everywhere else was sold out at such short notice. We had to change our entire trip.

The hostel was pretty dirty and run down, you could tell it was a shell of its former self. The beds were not comfy and the shower was terrible as was the bathroom. The doors make horrific noises so you are woken up everyone someone comes into the dorm. The music is also...

C’est des pires hôtels! Fuyez! Ils m’ont ruiné le séjour !! Nous y sommes malheureusement restés en février 2023.

Nous avions réservé 4 chambres, dont une avec 4 lits. En arrivant on nous dit qu’il n’y en a que une de dispo, celle avec 3 lits (4 lits ça n’existe pas en fait!). Ils avaient sur-booké. On a du trouver en catastrophe des places ailleurs dans les environs.

Chambres chaudes à crever, pas de moustiquaire aux fenêtres, et Clim hors service. Pas d’eau chaude dans la douche (et si vous auriez le luxe d’en avoir dans une autre chambre (ma 6 et la 2 hs), vérifiez qu’elle ne vous électrocute pas : c’est une douche électrique avec des branchements dénudés non mis à la terre), c’est peut être pour ça qu’il n’y a pas de serviettes ni de savons dans les chambres. Les toilettes sentent mauvais, l’eau croupie et l’humidité. D’ailleurs les murs s’effritent et marquent les sacs si vous les adossez dessus.

Très bruyant ! Aucune insonorisation.

Les cuisines sont sales, les personnel sympa mais le service désastreux et lent. Il n’y a aucune permanence ni accueil de nuit (a partir de 22h) J’ai eu une soif de l’enfer jusqu au lendemain 7h15 quand le type de l’accueil est enfin venu travailler.

La lumière : une ampoule néon blanc froid au plafond. C’est tout.

La literie est tellement inconfortable que j’ai un mal de dos terrible.

C’est à presque une heure de route de semuc champey.

A part la vue pas mal, et la micro piscine (sale)… je ne vous conseille absolument pas...
