Hotel Zodiaco — Hotel in Szekszárdi járás

I was visiting Szekszárd for two nights to explore wine country--arriving by train and leaving by bus. The hotel is in the center of the town, just a few minutes from the main square. It's also an easy walk to/from the train and bus stations. The front desk staff spoke fluent English and went out of their way to be helpful. I arrived on Sunday, and they provided recommendations for restaurants that were open. When I returned with leftovers, one person noted that I might need utensils and retrieved them for me. They also called taxi cabs for when I visited wineries and were helpful in other ways. I couldn't ask for better customer service. The breakfast was ample, although it looked like coffee might cost 150 Forint. (I don't drink coffee, so I don't know. The tea was part of the breakfast.) My room was clean and neat. I had a few times the misfortune to utilise this place for resting. Maybe once upon a time it has been a nice place, who knows, I only know the city for a few decades. My review was originated from the general bad feeling about the place but I can try to come up with some specifics. Like, the "free parking" is close to useless unless you want to collect scratch memorables on your car due to the small available space. The service was mediocre, it was obvous that we (the "guests") are the unavoidable irritation for the one-woman-staff. The room was okay in a sort or cranky way, apart from the fact that once the heating was set on 500% and the control was broken, and there was no spare, so I was kind of expected to buy a monkey wrench and fix it myself or keep the window open. Das Hotel liegt relativ im zentrum von Szeksárd an einer etwas größeren Straße. Allerdings ist durch die bauliche Art des Hotels vom Verkehrslärm selbst im Innenhof nichts zu hören. ||||Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig ausgestattet mit TV (digital / Satelitten), Telefon, teilweise Klimaanlage sowie ein Kühlschrank. Der Kleiderschrank (anscheinend selbstgebaut) aus Holz bot viel Platz. Das Bad entsprach ebenso mit einer zweckmäßgen Ausstattung wie Toilette, Waschbecken mit Spiegelschrank und Dusche. Wer es Nachts gern ruhig hat, der sollte den Kühlschrank abstellen, da es sich um einen normalen Kompressorkühlschrank (keine elekrt. gekühlte Minibar) handelt, welcher entsprechende Geräusche beim Kühlen erzeugt. Beim Duschen war Eile angesagt, da der Ablauf leider überfordert (leicht zugesetzt) war udn das Wasser leider nicht so schnell ablaufen konnte, wie es durch die Brause nachgefüllt wurde. ||||Das Frühstück ist ausreichend mit Wurst, Käse, Marmelade, Honig, "Brötchen", Hefezopf, Obst, Müsli und Joghurt und süße Stückchen. der Frühstücksraum erinnert zwar eher an einen Wartesaal und ist nicht gerade sehr gemütlich, aber aufgrund der warmen Wetterlage ist die Einnahme des Frühstücks auf der überdachten Terasse vor dem Frühstücksraum soeise zu empfehlen.||||Alles in allem ein akzeptables, sehr preiswertes Hotel, welchesa zwar nicht gehobenen Ansprüchen gereicht, jedoch für geschäftliche oder Urlaubsaufenthalte allemal genügt. Besonders zu empfeheln ist ein Besuch der in den Gewölben des Hotels untergenrachten Pizzeria "Bella Napoli" - hier lässt sich hervorragend Essen und Wein zu äußerst günstigen...
