Vár Hotel Kastélyszálló — Hotel in Szentendrei járás

I have visited the hotel with my family who already wrote a review.||||I don't usually write reviews, but I will make an exception this time since I can't believe the hostility of the hotel manager in the previous review to:||1. Write a review on his own hotel||2. Rate his own hotel as if a genuine traveller's experience||3. And worst - trash like this on his hotel's guests||||I would like to refer to his blunt accusations:||||1. We were charged the full price of our rooms before we have arrived at the hotel, that is not really meeting with booking.com reservation rules, where we supposed to be charged at arrival.||||2. We have booked 3 attic rooms, one of the rooms we got was attic room no.27 that was mentioned in the other reviews here earlier, it was clearly smaller than all other attic rooms, with no window and not matching the hotel's web site pictures at all.||||The room is so small there is nowhere to put the luggage - only enough room to walk around the bed. The skylight is broken and wouldn't open, so we couldn't get any fresh air plus it was covered over so we couldn't see out. At 54 Euro a night plus tax it was not value for money.||||3. The so called party that the manager dares to claim - my sister ordered 2 pizzas with her 4 years old daughter and our 80 years old father, and we had the pizza right next to our room door and not at the garden restaurant as the manager implies.||||4. The breakfast seemed really good, we have had large omelettes and a french-toast for the child, the girl ate the first piece and when she took the second piece of bread, we have noticed black spots on the bottom side of it.||||There appeared to be 3 flies fried right into the bread, the manager could easily check it but instead he got upset, came to us as we were leaving his restaurant and told us that he is sure that the meal came out of his kitchen with no flies.||||We couldn't care less as we had to get move on with our trip but were a little puzzled with their response.||||5. On checkout the manager was really hostile toward us shouted at my sister when we returned the keys that we must pay a tourist tax, which we have not been told to pay before and never refused to pay (a reminder - they charged our credit card before our arrival).||||She paid immediately the 8 Euro for all of us.||||The manager at reception accused us about the flies implying that we deliberately put them there trying to get another meal for free.||||And now in his so called "hotel review" he changed his accusation and implies that we were trying to get a discount (a reminder - they charged our credit card before our arrival).||||This is a horrible service and no way to manage a hotel.||||||P.S. We have had 7 hotels during this vacation, all of them on that same category with much much better rooms and not talking about the service||||P.S.S By the manager's response I'm surprised that he didn't accuse us also about the size of room no.27, I have more space in my closet than...

We booked the hotel in advace. When we arrived one of the rooms we were offered have had only roof window hermeticaly closed, the room was so tiny that the door could hardly open. Compared to other rooms we had it was much smaller, surely not matching the pictures on the web. After long duscussion on the reception we were moved to other room in the category we booked, that looked much better. We were thinking that it's not so bad after all, but there was a breakfest coming... On the french bread we have ordered, the second peace had 3 flies stucked inside it and another small bug on the other piece. When we have showed it to the waitress, manager came to us few minutes later, she said she is sure that the toasts came out of the kitchen with no flies and walked away. The other manager on check-out was shouting at us trying to say that we have put the flies ourselves trying to get another meal. Summarizing all that, the hotel looking quite old. The closer to the roof rooms are tiny, not sure worth the price. The rooms equipped clean but very basic. Well this hotel is below any rating, very dissapointing. I would not recommend this...
