I recently had the pleasure of staying at Konvin Hotel, and I have to say, I was very impressed. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and taken care of.
The hotel is situated in a great spot nearby the airport and without it being too close so the noise from the airport was close to none which is crucial for a good night sleep before traveling abroad. Unlike many other Airport hotels, The Konvin Hotel is very cosy and the design and look of the interior makes it very "at home like".
The room I stayed in was very clean and comfortable. The bed was nice and the sheets were crispy clean. I really appreciated the little touches that made the space feel like a home away from home.
One thing that I do reccomend for those who have time, there is a very nice gym nearby the hotel where you can buy access too. The gym has all the latest equipment and a huge hot tub to relax in afterwards. It is within walking distance from the Konvin Hotel. The gym is only for adults though, so no kids allowed. If you have kids and want to take them swimming there is a great swimming pool down in Keflavik, but you will have to drive there or take a taxi (max 5 min. drive)
The hotel restaurant is located on the second floor and I did not expect to be able to get such great food at an Airport hotel. I ordered the beef steak, had some red wine with it and tried some of the cocktails before during happy hour, which were all exeptionally good. The waiter that took my order was a coctail expert which impressed me. He even offered to make me a few cocktails from scratch, which was very delightful experience.
The menu has something for everyone, from a great beef steak, hamburgers, salats and anything in between. Also the breakfast buffet is very nice and for europeans who like their coffee strong, the coffee is very nice aswell.
I have to commend the hotel staff for their excellent service. Every interaction I had with the staff was positive, and they went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. They were friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care about their guests.
Overall, I would highly recommend Konvin Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable stay. I think it is perfect for all groups, for families and those who are travelling for business and want a nice hotel near...

I chose this hotel because it was close to the (KEF) airport, but didn’t realize that everything is in Reykjavik near the domestic airport - not near the international airport. That is on me and my lack of research.
However, the hotel does not make it easy to get to the hotel from the airport, or to/from Reykjavik. They do have a free shuttle that runs in the morning…but only the morning and only TO the KEF airport. When I arrived, I paid $45 USD for a taxi from the airport to the hotel (less than 2 miles).
To get to the tour I booked, I had to inform the hotel that I will use the airport shuttle at X time and then purchase a $30 ticket that would take me from the airport to Reykjavik. And of course getting back was another $30, and then I had the option of paying $45 for a taxi, or find and wait for the 55 bus that stops near the hotel.
The hotel itself is nice, but VERY dark - like living in a cave with very few lamps. I had to turn on my phone flashlight to make sure I was using the keycard right the first time. The bed is comfy. The bathroom is big, but there is only a top shower head, no flexible one. Inside the hotel is easy to navigate. The buffet breakfast was decent - nothing spectacular, but enough to start the day: eggs, bacon/sausage, vegetables, cereal, coffee, ‘waffles’ and juice, to name most.
The price is extreme, but EVERYTHING in Iceland is. I paid $720 for two nights. To put in perspective the price points I encountered in Iceland: 1000ISK~8USD Can of soda: $4 Iceland sweatshirt: $70+ Iceland t-shirt: $30+ One souvenir coin: $12 Meal at...
