I'll start with the positives;
The place has a nice decor.
The staff are friendly.
Negatives:
The menu itself is extremely limited. It's basically all some variation of fried food, chips, burgers etc.
I ate here with my wife prior to catching a flight. She is a coeliac. Prior to ordering we asked the female waitress what was gluten free (very little) and this information is not listed on the menu. Amongst the gluten free options we were told that the cauliflower wings were an option. And so my wife ordered those and a chicken salad. When the cauliflower wings arrived, they were delivered by another member of staff, a male waiter. Just to air on the side of caution (as coeliacs always must) we also asked him to confirm whether or not the cauliflower wings were in fact gluten free. Once again he confirmed they were.
My wife and I began eating our meal and about 90 seconds later the waiter returns and informs us that the cauliflower wings do in fact contain a wheat flour. My wife had already eaten several pieces of the serving at this point.
To make matters worse, as way of an apology from the restaurant, for my wife's impending illness from the gluten, we were offered free desserts...
Both of which also contain gluten!
The only saving grace in all this blunder was a staff member named Rita who seemed to appreciate the gravity of what was after happening (I'd score it one star were it not for her). My wife went on to be very ill for night.
Avoid this place if you have any kind of food allergy or if you want to eat a...
Read moreThoroughly impressed with this restaurant that’s on the second floor of the hotel. The food was excellent. My fiancé got fish and chips and I got the Konvin burger. I could not stop dipping the crispy fries into the truffle mayo and we ate every bite of our food. Service was prompt and efficient. You pay up front so they don’t bring the bill to you. If you’re a guest of the hotel, you get a 10% discount off your bill.
We didn’t have a reservation on a Monday night at 7 pm but we were seated promptly and there were many other tables of diners. The menu focused on pub food with beer and burgers but it also had ribs and lamb. No tip was required and it ended up being about $49 USD.
We’ll definitely have to stay here next time we’re in Iceland and try the other items on the menu. The hotel unfortunately doesn’t provide shuttle from the airport, but they do provide shuttle service from the hotel to the airport on the day of departure. That saves you about $30 in taxi fees. It’s probably best if you use their car rental service as that’s the most convenient way to get...
Read moreMy friends and I came here for dinner around 7:30 pm. We are also guests at this hotel, so coming to this restaurant was super convenient (our hotel room was just a few doors from this restaurant!). It was busy when we arrived, and we waited a few minutes before getting to our table. The server was attentive (I forgot his name), ordered our drink first, and chit-chatted before returning to get our dinner menu. For our table, we ordered:
-deep-fried cauliflower wings with French fries -chicken burger with sweet potato fries and ketchup -oumph burger with country fries and spicy Mayo -cheeseburger with truffle sauce and country fries -chocolate cake for dessert -Aperol spritz -Moscow mule
Everything that we ordered was so delicious. I was impressed with how good all our food was. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a hotel with a fantastic restaurant! You will not regret...
