My recent stay at Maya Heritage in Bodhgaya was a delightful surprise. The hotel's biggest draw is its unbeatable location - literally a stone's throw from the Mahabodhi Temple. This proximity is perfect for pilgrims or anyone wanting to fully immerse themselves in the spiritual atmosphere of Bodhgaya.||The rooms themselves are on the understated side, but clean and comfortable. What they lack in frills, they make up for in tranquility. The property has a peaceful ambiance, and my sleep quality was excellent.||Highlights:||Prime Location: Unsurpassed for exploring the Mahabodhi Temple and surrounding sites.|Helpful Staff: The staff at Maya Heritage were friendly and attentive to my needs.|Peaceful Ambiance: The hotel offered a welcome respite from the bustle of Bodhgaya.|Restaurant Review:||The Maya Heritage restaurant offers a convenient dining option, especially after a long day of exploring. The menu features a variety of cuisines, including Indian, Continental, Chinese, and Southeast Asian. While not the most extensive menu, the food was fresh and well-prepared. Breakfast was also a highlight, with a good selection of both Indian and Western options.||Overall, Maya Heritage is a great choice for travelers seeking a comfortable and convenient stay in Bodhgaya. While the rooms may be basic, the unbeatable location, friendly service, and on-site dining make it a solid option, particularly...
Read moreWe organized a ceremony in this nice-looking third-class hotel. In the first look, it was super good when we booked the hotel, but on the day of the event, I realized to my shame its third class service. Especially the hotel manager. Here's why:
They intentionally shut down the lift. The manager arrogantly said it's a technical problem and they can't help. My question was, What do I do, I have a differently-abled person who can't use the stairs? He literally said - "I don't care, not my problem".
On the day of booking I tasted the food - it was nice and tasty. On the day of the event, they downgraded the quality - Noodles had a foul smell and taste, served tea in cheap plastic cups, they probably used Knorr soup that even kids at home prepare well. They made the easy bucks at the expense of embarrassment I had to go through.
They took 1 hour to prepare 10 cups of tea. After complaining, again the manager had nothing but an arrogant response - they are doing what they can.
Bathroom flushes were not working, tap was broken, batteries in TV remotes were not functioning.
So please be careful when you organize any event at this filthy hotel and especially deal carefully with that arrogant,...
Read moreThe location was superb. The place is neat and clean and the staff is very friendly and warm. The breakfast is simple but quite comforting. However, the room service menu is quite exhaustive and offer various kind of cuisine. The best part still is the location. There are so many areas to explore. The hotel is next to a supermarket, which provides everything in the daily need and can help you in case you are planning to stay for a long period.
The restaurant has excellent food. I tried eating some local food but I found that the restaurant serves the best quality veg and non-vegetarian food.
There's a taxi on call, which you can reserve, the guy (Anand) can act as your local guide too and takes you through all the local attractions in Bodh Gaya. They also provide airport pick and drop facilities. Speaking of which, Airport is like 10 minutes drive from this facility and its walking distance from the Thai temple....
