I stayed at Moustache Coimbatore, located in Tatabad, a well-connected part of the city with good access to public transport, eateries, and popular local spots. The location is one of the few positives — it's central and makes getting around Coimbatore quite convenient.
However, the stay itself left a lot to be desired.
I booked a 6-bed mixed dorm, and while the hostel offers multiple room types, the dorm was very cramped, and the ceiling fans were installed dangerously low, especially near the upper bunks — it's easy to bump your head if you're not careful. Some beds didn't have charging ports, which was frustrating.
The common area has a large TV, and there’s a rooftop terrace where guests can sit and eat. While alcohol and smoking are officially not allowed, I noticed a few guests drinking at midnight in the lobby/terrace area, which raised safety concerns. So despite the stated rules, enforcement seemed very poor.
Bathroom facilities were very basic — there was no hot water, no toiletries like soap or body wash, and no buckets. There are about four toilets shared across all dorms, and that quickly becomes inconvenient during busy hours. Also, there are no plates or basic utensils for eating in the common areas.
My experience with the management and crowd handling was disappointing. When I returned from dinner one evening, I found that some guests had occupied my bed and surrounding beds, despite not having booked them. One of my dorm neighbors had already informed the staff and vacated out of frustration, as the intruding guests were rude and aggressive. The staff didn’t take prompt or effective action, which made the environment feel unwelcoming and poorly managed.
All this said, the price was around ₹600 per night, which might seem budget-friendly. But for that price, I’ve stayed in hostels with better cleanliness, friendlier staff, and a more secure...

I booked a room at Moustache Coimbatore from June 4th to 6th and clearly mentioned my arrival time as 12:30 AM during the booking. But when I reached the property at midnight, THE PLACE WAS SHUT DOWN LIKE A GHOST TOWN!No staff, no lights, NOTHING! I stood there like a fool in the middle of the road, calling the so-called "24/7 reception" number repeatedly—NO ANSWER!
Finally, at 6 AM,some genius decides to call me back and casually asks me to check in AS IF THEY DIDN’T JUST LEAVE ME STRANDED IN THE DARK FOR 6 HOURS! What did they expect? That I’d sleep on the road like a beggar? UNACCEPTABLE!
And then, this person has the AUDACITY to argue with me about paying the remaining amount. WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR A SERVICE YOU FAILED TO PROVIDE? You ruined my trip, wasted my time, and put my safety at risk—AND YOU WANT MORE MONEY?
It’s been over 15 days, and I’ve tried contacting them through every possible way—calls, emails, social media—NOTHING!They’re IGNORING ME LIKE I DON’T EVEN EXIST!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSTEL! They don’t care about their guests, they don’t honor bookings, and they have ZERO accountability. Worst experience ever—MOUSTACHE COIMBATORE IS A DISGRACE TO HOSPITALITY!

Read moreI’ve stayed at several Moustache hostels before, but this one was quite underwhelming. First off, very limited parking space—only for bikes, and no car parking. The hostel itself is tiny compared to other Moustache properties, and unfortunately, there’s zero hostel vibe here.
The rooms (dorms) are extremely small, and the fans are placed dangerously low—especially in the upper bunks. It’s easy to accidentally hurt yourself if you’re not careful. The facilities are pretty basic—no towels, no toiletries like soap or body wash, and in some dorm beds, no charging ports either.
There’s a rooftop space where you can sit and eat, but alcohol and smoking are not allowed. There are about four toilets for everyone, and from what I noticed, there’s one female dorm and two mixed dorms.
The only positive was the polite and helpful front desk staff—they were genuinely nice.
I paid around ₹600, so it’s budget-friendly, but still not worth it for me. I’ve stayed in better hostels with a real vibe and better amenities. If you’re looking for a proper hostel experience, I’d say...
