This is either a hotel which is not actually a Marriott hotel and is illegally using the brand name or Marriott thinks that they can get away with operating a substandard hotel in India and cheat indians. We had reserved 2 rooms. On checking in at around 9 pm we found that one of the rooms had a very bad smell. Not wanting to create a fuss we just asked the staff to spray some air freshner and did not really bother them much. As soon as we opened the tap in the bathroom sink, water started pouring down below the sink. there was a huge leakage and the reason for the bad smell became clear. How can someone allocate a room to a guest without checking something as basic as this? The room had to be changed. The new room had the same stink . the staff admitted that all rooms will have the stink and the AC would have to be turned on for some time before the stink goes away. they apparently think that it is normal for rooms to stink even though they are unused for only a few hours between one guest checks out and another one checks in. The lighting in the room was poor, the bedding was old and musty and the rooms were small. It would be very inconvenient if you have more than one piece of luggage. The next morning we realized that the bottle of body wash in the shower was empty. So much for basic housekeeping.
The other room that we checked into did not have a functioning Air Conditioner and had to changed too. The other room options presented to me also had their trademark stink. Essentially we were able to get proper rooms only 2 hours after the check in and we had to run around inspecting rooms for basic things as a functioning sink and AC.
The next morning after breakfast , the keycard of the rooms had mysteriously expired and we were locked out of our room and another 30minutes was wasted in fixing these problems.
We were in the hotel for about 10 hours and roughly 3 hours of it was spent without having a room. this is bad and embarrassing for even a 1 star hotel. This is by far the worst hotel experience I have had and I have been to hundreds of hotels over the years.
Such a expensive hotel and such a shoddy facility. . I would advise you to book other hotels. This one is not only not worth the money but is also punishing...
Read moreWe had a three nights stay in a span of 2 weeks period. This hotel is closer to the airport and located very close to the city and few other prominent areas of attraction. The hotel is an excellent example of what Marriott hospitality can offer to loyal members like us as the service is consistent and the noteworthy to mention about. The staff is outstanding in their service and walk the extra mile to ensure guests are happy at all times. The restaurant serves a variety and combination of various Indian and continental cuisines. The quality and taste is above par and the service offered is beyond your expectations when it comes to accommodating a choice of food that the guests sometimes prefer away from the buffet spread.
The rooms are quiet and well maintained. Linens are very clean and just what Marriott is known for. The front desk staff are pleasing and professional in their service. Fairfield Marriott, Coimbatore is one of the best in service that i'd always rate them high when compared to other Marriott properties in India. Look out for a promising experience with front desk staffs such as Prem, Sujita. Few others whom you'd love to interact are Rajaram, Dharmendra and their team in the restaurant.
The only cons i'd think of is no bar facility (means no alcohol served) and unavailability of a pool to unwind or relax. Rest everything that a member or a guest can look forward to is very much experienced. Looking forward to consistency in their service in my future stays and wishing the...
Read moreI booked this hotel as it was close to the airport and belonged to the Marriott brand. I have been using Marriott properties since 2015 and have never faced any major issues, but this time was different. At around 4:30 pm, the housekeeping fellow knocked and opened the gate using his master key, as he wanted to clean the room. I complained to the staff later in the evening, but it didn't seem to bother them, it seemed like a common practice. The front office manager and housekeeper manager assured me this would never happen ever again and that it was one of the mistakes. They assured me and, as i had booked a room for next week, also requested me not to cancel the same and give them one more opportunity. A week later, when I checked in again, the team at the counter updated at 3:30pm that the room was not ready and will take some time to be ready, He said it may take 15 minutes, as the check in time was 3 pm, it was quite surprising to know that hotel was not ready with room and the person on the counter was not sure what will be the exact time for room, On reaching to room division manager, it seemed he did not cared much as hotel is sold out. Its terrible to see that during Covid times all the hotels were struggling to get business and now when they have the business, they are struggling to keep the consumer. I am very disappointed with the experience. My five years of loyalty matter nothing...
