The Castello Residency Coimbatore — Hotel in East Zone

Stayed here from Oct 15 to Oct 16, 2017.||||The Property:||============================================||1) Located less than 1 km away from the airport. In fact a walkable distance if you don’t mind a fifteen minute stroll.||||2) Medium-sized rooms. Good leg space. Mediocre roadside view.||||3) Mid-sized bathroom. No frills. No Pressure Pump shower. Bathroom separated from the wash basin area by a curtain, rendering it messy.||||4) Normal sized bed. Lumpy pillows and thick mattresses. Good sleep quality.||||5) A 32 Inch LED TV. HD Channels not working.||||6) More than adequate lighting. Yellow light bulbs. I like my rooms well lit.||||7) Was there only for a night’s stay, so didn’t get an opportunity to check for wifi.||||8) Well functioning air conditioner.||||9) Fairly indifferent staff.||||The Platter:||============================================||The buffet breakfast was satisfactory and appropriate to the grade of the hotel. Aloo Paratha. Wada Curry. Semiya Upma. Boiled eggs. Idli. Sambar. And Sambar Idli (Sambar having pieces of Idlis dunked into it). Medu Wada. Jam. Honey. Toast. Cut Fruits. Fresh watermelon juice. I got to this hotel thru OYO Rooms. Mind blowing discount over their card rate. Though the hotel looks ordinary from outside, it's typically comparable to the no-frills, Ginger kind of hotels (Ginger has bad housekeeping) At KR, linen is clean, beds, mattresses, bathrooms are very good, rooftop restaurant is good (mosquito repellents provided) Good fish food, breakfast here.

What bugged me was, a call in the morning if I'd ordered a cab, when I hadn't. Then the next day I was woken up early for Tea & water that again I never ordered. On day of check out, at 7am I was told that since I've booked thru OYO, my check out time was 7.30am. It was not only surprising but completely against what OYO promises - 11am. Billing, I was overcharged. Which was corrected. There was a lot of miscommunication at the Reception which the management needs to correct. However let me make it clear, I still never...

This hotel is located very close to airport approximately 1.4 km and have few big hospitals very near to it in case one needs one. Rooms are spacious and smartly decorated.But house keeping department is not upto the mark as they don’t change toiletries every day and you would also have to ask for your complementary water bottle every day. |Coming to the food people with North Indian or East Indian taste bud will definitely not appreciate the food.
