Cornel Restaurant & Bar — Hotel in Goa

It's a small bar and restaurant on the main road heading towards Saligaon Church. The best thing about this restaurant is that the owner live in the premises and it's moreover home cook food. This makes it authentic catholic style food.

Two consecutive nights we tried different dishes. We had chicken cafreal, chonak rava fry, squid golden fry, bombil fry, pork fry, prawns curry n some mocktails. The taste of every dish was rustic. Half chicken cafreal which we had was of good quantity. The chicken pieces came with skin as what I didn't expect. Before coming to goa I listed out some of the best chicken cafreal serving restaurants. So I really didn't expect such a blowing taste of this here. Chonak, squid, prawns, bombil were also fresh. Pork oil fry was a bit chewy, but again everywhere in goa i found it same taste n texture. So my taste accepted it as it was.

I had a chat with owner and his Portugal returned (by choice) son. So nice to know that both are trained food enthusiast....

And yes best part of this restaurant is the gentleman who takes food order. He is the most pure hearted person I ever met at any tourist destinations i visited. He is hardworking, soft-spoken, well knowledgeable about all the dishes they have. So heartiest...

Best Chicken cafreal with Poi. If you are visiting Goa, I would recommend you to try their authentic Goan food. I have been to Goa many times however every time I visit, I ensure I will have chicken cafreal with Poi. It's one of the best dishes from Goa. This is one of the best places I’ve stayed in this area and I would definitely recommend and visit this place again with friends and family It’s a total value for Money the staff and the owners are extremely courteous and always go the extra mile to ensure the the customer has a pleasant experience The rooms were spacious and extremely affordable and the best part is their food !!
