Crystal Goa — Hotel in Goa

This place is a SCAM and will do anything to get more money out of you! AVOID!

I booked a room in the Crystal Goa apartment and messaged a few days before asking if they had a property in Patnem. They got back and confirmed their new property Crystal Goa Onyx which was a boutique, relaxing hotel was available. I confirmed the price would be the same as the Apartment and they confirmed. I checked in and the Onyx was not in Patnem but Paloem and the room was like a prison cell next to a bar with the loudest speaker during the day. The sheets had orange crust and sex stains on the black sheets.

Upon checkin I was overcharged 3,000 INR and messaged the property to ask for a refund to which the said “the manager will discuss he issue with you”.

After seeing how atrocious the room was I asked to be changed to the apartment because I felt duped by the dirty rooms, location and loud environment. They said they only had a premium room and it would cost the same as what I was initially charged so that I would not receive a reufund. After putting up an argument with the rude receptionist, I was assured by a man who came over that I could change rooms and would not pay extra and have the refund. For the next four days I went to reception to ask if the manager was around to provide me with the refund on my card and there was always an excuse as to why he wasn’t there.

On the last day I asked for the manager again and they told me I wouldn’t be receiving the refund because I went to the premium room DESPITE being told there wouldn’t be an additional charge. I’m fuming and shocked how a hotel can overcharge and lie to their customers. Honestly AVOID this place at all costs. I’m now...

I booked a room here with my boyfriend initially for 2 nights — on the evening of our arrival day we decided to extend our stay a third night because of how nice it is!

Aside from the friendly and accommodating staff, the atmosphere is incredibly cozy and comfortable. It’s got this tiki-esque vibe to it. Our room was also nice; we had a small double with air conditioning and a bathroom (all very clean). You can also get your laundry done there (it takes about 24 hours and you’ll have your clothes returned to you clean and folded).

They offer two places to eat, the “cafe inn” or “cafe out”. Both places are nice and the breakfast that is included in your booking is pretty nice compared to other places. You’ll have two options: eggs with toast and a small salad, or a big bowl of assorted fruits (strawberries, bananas, papaya, watermelon, pineapple, grapes, pomegranate, oranges, nuts...) with yogurt and honey, plus either a juice or coffee. And the coffee comes with a cookie :).

The location is also really optimal - just a 5 minute walk from the beach and surrounded by great restaurants/cafes, and of course wonderful little markets for the shopper in you.

Overall, i can confidently say I would stay here again! Highly recommend this place. Really don’t know why there are mediocre reviews about it... regardless, best place we’ve stayed thus far...

Spent almost 2 weeks here. Really relaxing space with popular live music events.

Tried a wide variety of dishes and drinks off the menu and was never disappointed. The restaurant constantly features on top 10 lists for the area, and has one of the most afordable menus of the area, especially for the high quality and variety on offer.

Accommodation is clean and comfortable, and the staff are extremely friendly, accomodating, helpful, and make no attempts to scam their guests. Was pointed in the right direction to take care of money exchanges easily and with no hefty "exchange fees", get a local sim card, and make airport taxi arrangements when leaving along with offers to connect with any tour type facilities in the area directly with less than 5 minutes of conversation and no tacked on charges, or added loopholes/conditions. Staff were even forthcoming with other establishments woth trying out on the beachfront.

Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to just relax and enjoy their stay an would definitely return if...
