Beaches and the restaurants in the beach front are great, they give us the ambience of the beach and the cool breeze. And it’s obvious that the rates are a little hyped.. we found the difference from shop to shop as we moved away a little from the beach..
Well we found this restaurant ,decent, enough, the factor that the guy there, supposing that he is owner, he stood ahead in the description of what they had. He was convincing on the prices and the varieties that he would like to give us. I am not sure if those were on the menu, but he tried giving us options, and they gave us the feel that he was deviating to give us his best.
Well we fell for his marketing 😂😂…
Ordered a big king fish, from that he gave us tava fry, masala fish and a curry.. we felt that was awesome. He also added some rice and rotis along with it. It was like a combo.
We were excited and he took us to order another fish for a tandoori style. Oh man, we knew we were just falling for his sales pitch. But as we we dint have much for lunch, we wanted to fill our ourselves without any thought of being fatter 😛
While the preparation was in place we ordered for a lime soda, which was kind of our method to keep ourselves hydrated.
Tip : lime with a pich of salt, helps gain your electrolytes and prevents the effect of dehydration.
Had to wait for a while, but every wait was to have some good fish. Slowly they started to serve, a big plate spread with some cut pieces of tava fish and masala fish with salad and potato fries.
The masala fish was mind blowing, it was super spicy. Our taste buds were just getting pinched every time we had a mouthful. We could keep licking the masala again n again. The salad they have were also a good mix of the veggies, which tasted great with the lemon squeezed on it. It felt like fresh veggies which again made it tastier. Rawa Tawa fish was cooked real well, with good amount of the crispness on it. It was overwhelming.
We knew that we were getting full even before having the rice and rotis 😂
But how could we give up when the tandoori fish was yet on the way. By the time we finished the first bit, the tandoori came.. Oh boy, it was a big one, we looked at each other and then without saying we knew we are going to hog on. We gave cheers with our lime glasses and started.
The fish was well done, good amount of masala, could taste the tandoori masala, we relaxed and had it full. The fish curry was a coconut based one, which we had it along with the rotis.
By the time we finished, we were like, please take us to the hand wash… 😂
If you guys plan for Palolem beach then this restaurant is in a walkable distance, on the main road itself.
And if the owner is there then he will guide and takes things forward🙊
Do remember to comment if you make it here ,...
Read moreI visited this little gem of a restaurant with not great hopes with my family (a mix of 2 children with very selective food habits, my mother who is a vegetarian and father and us who were looking to try some great tasting local seafood flavours)
We ordered a seafood platter, a vegetarian thali, a chicken pizza and a vegetarian noodles with a selection of cocktails and mocktails for us. Each of the dishes came freshly prepared with tastes comparing or bettering the best restaurants like fisherman's wharf on panji.
The chicken pizza was the best pizza I have have for a long time, thin crust and the cheese didnt taste cheap.
The seafood platter had rawa fried prawns, garlic butter calamari, goan flavoured black snapper and tandoori bombereal, each of those tasted excellent and were ordered a second one as well. The vegetarian thali cans 3 with a selection of dal, veggies, rice and breads, each of then prepared very nicely and tasting yummy.
The cocktails are not expensive either and tasted very nice, chilly vodka was quite nice. The staff including the owner were very polite and professional.
I would highly recommend this small eatery if you want the best of the local cuisine at a very...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant today and I must tell you all this is the worst experience ever. First of all the food is expensive for no reason nor is the ambience that great, secondly the delay in preparing the order. Thirdly the Mackerel fry given was unclean, it's stomach was not cleaned and it had eggs in it.. All this is fine if you are treating the customer well but a big NO, this restaurant failed in this criteria as well. Mr PRADHAN who took our order had such a bad attitude towards us. Passing personal comments on the customers and behaving rudely when asked about the delay in order and passing comments on our education, showing arrogant attitude towards our senior citizen parents. I mean what is the reason for this arrogance. Is this how customers are treated whose bill is more than 7000 rupees ? Or do you all respect only the European customers and mistreat local Indian fellows?
Never had such a bad experience before. We are never going to visit here again even if free food is provided and definitely would not recommend this to any of our friends and relatives..
