Me and my family visited La Vaiencia between 21st through 25th October 2017. I booked the hotel based on the location, reviews on various websites and budget. Here is my own review and hope that you find it useful:
The location of the hotel is very good. Coming from Mumbai, I wanted some hotel in North Goa, as it would save me time after a long drive to enter Goa and reach any hotel further away (e.g. in South Goa), which could have taken about an hour more easily. We could easily locate the hotel, thanks to Google Maps navigation. No problems at all. For that matter, we could also navigate to various places in Goa using Google Navigation. No problems at all! This hotel offers the best of all your choices, i.e. it has its own swimming pool which is cleaned every day, and is also very close to Morjim beach (you can walk down, it takes about 5 minutes) The Morjim beach is beautiful, very safe and hardly crowded making it an ideal choice. There are also a few shacks on the beach so you can enjoy breakfast or lunch (these have come up recently and hence did not have electricity supply, hence no dinner). The food served is also good. The Hotel is not cramped-up, and has lawn /landscaped areas, kids play area, and more importantly it has its own car park space. The staff is friendly and courteous and we did not have any problems during check-in or check-out. The hotel room was adequately large and the facilities like mini-bar, LED TV, Split-AC was also good. Warm water was available after about 11am. Rooms were basic, but again, you have to realize that you are paying a very reasonable amount to stay here. We had two meals and one breakfast. The food was tasty and was served in a reasonable amount of time. You should realize that you are on a leisurely holiday in Goa and it is acceptable that service anywhere (restaurants, hotels) will take a bit more time. You should enjoy that too chilling out! The cell phone network is decent, and did not have much problems with the ‘range’. This was for Vodafone and IDEA. The Hotel offers Wifi, and to my pleasant surprise, the connectivity and speed was decent even from our room (usually, many hotels offer WiFi, but the range is limited to the hotel lobby area or so since the routers are placed only in these common areas) If you are willing to walk down for about 10-15 minutes, then you also have a choice of small restaurants and shops nearby, which is very useful. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, and we liked being there so much that we extended another day in Goa. I would like to tell everyone interested in staying in this hotel that you should keep in mind the charges – they are relatively less, and you should not expect the moon for the price you are paying.
Other notes: On the day we reached at about 4pm, there was a large group (maybe about 3-4 families with kids) who very noisy! And our room was on the ground floor facing the pool. It was disturbing, however with our luck, they checked out the next day. The following evening, the hotel seemed so calm, pleasant and serene! I am making this point so that you realize that such incidents will happen and you have to take it with a pinch of salt. This is no fault of the hotel. It is something that we, the guests, should realize and respect other guest’s privacy. The approach road from the main road is not paved or tarred, it is a very narrow dusty road for about 200 meters, but that again is not within the hotels control. With time, perhaps the local municipality will construct a road. The breakfast is something the hotel should try to improve. They do not serve a buffet, and the breakfast is very limited in choice. The food seems slightly overpriced, but then you will realize that most places are also overpriced.
Overall, we had a very good time during our stay at La Vaiencia and we would like to visit again! I would recommend this hotel to other people interested in visiting Goa! All the best La...

Detailed Resort Review
The resort’s location is its biggest advantage—it’s easy to find via maps, and its proximity to key landmarks makes it convenient for travelers. From the outside, the property looks impressive and has the appeal of a premium resort. However, this charm quickly fades upon stepping inside, particularly when it comes to the rooms and service. Here are the drawbacks we experienced: Water Policy: The resort provides only two complimentary 500ml water bottles on Day 1, even if your stay spans multiple days. After this, you’re charged for additional bottles. Ironically, the paid bottles were 1-liter in size, making the complimentary ones seem insufficient and even stingy. Welcome Drink: Upon arrival, we were offered a welcome drink, but it was served in half-sized portions, almost as though it had been split between two glasses. This wasn’t an isolated case; it seemed to be the standard practice for all guests. Room Cleanliness: The room we were given was far from clean: • The bathroom towel had a strand of hair. • The refrigerator contained another hair strand. • Safety pin on the bed—raising concerns about hygiene and safety. Bathroom Design: While the rooms come with attached bathrooms, there’s no proper ventilation. The doors have design openings, which allow smells to permeate the entire room. This becomes particularly unpleasant if someone uses the bathroom. Balcony and Windows: The balcony setup was poorly designed—a wooden support with a marble slab served as a table. The windows were dirty, adding to the feeling of neglect. Food Quality: The food on the first day was decent, but the quality dropped significantly after that. We even skipped the complimentary breakfast on subsequent days and chose to dine elsewhere. Misleading Beachfront Claim: Despite advertising as beachfront, the property is actually 250–300 meters from the beach, which was a disappointment. Suspicious Review Practices: A staff member was allegedly seen posting reviews from someone else’s phone. While I didn’t witness this directly, another staff member admitted it. Moreover, I personally experienced pressure to leave a review, which I declined. Spa Experience: My spa experience was highly unprofessional: • On the first day, I was assigned a different therapist than the one I requested. • The therapist was constantly talking, either to me or on the phone, ruining the therapeutic atmosphere. • Despite pre-arranging an appointment with the main therapist for the next day, he canceled, saying he was busy, and reassigned me to the same person. • The rate card is overpriced, with listed prices easily negotiable by half, indicating inflated pricing with little value. Guest Complaints: During our stay, another guest checked in and returned to the lobby within 15 minutes, visibly irritated, and declared the rooms to be “shitty.” The fridge mentioned mini bar with rates of items but nothing was there in the fridge. We ordered masala tea in room and trust me it was full of masala that it was super difficult to take a sip and lately upon complaining they mentioned “MASALA TEA AISE HI HOTI HAI”
Conclusion
While the property creates a promising impression with its exterior and lobby, the reality is vastly different. Poor room conditions, subpar service, and a lack of professionalism make it a poor value for money. If you’re considering this resort, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a more...
