Little Siolim is a beautiful little villa perfectly situated in North Goa. Its not too far from the crowded Baga beach area and is also quite close to the much quieter and serene Ashwem beach, which makes it the perfect location in North Goa in my opinion. The house in itself is very charming, perfect for a group of 6 people (it has 3 bedrooms). We were very lucky as the other 2 rooms were not occupied and we had the entire villa to ourselves. The centrally located pool and the adjoining sitting room/dining room/kitchen is an excellent place to relax with a book and some music. Dexter, the manager is the heart and soul of the place. Ever present to help you and share anecdotes about the older, simpler times of Goa, he works very hard to ensure that your stay in Little Siolim is as comfortable as it possibly can be. The house is close to Ruta's Roadhouse (a must visit for some delectable little bites) and Gunpowder (fabulous South Indian food) and many other smaller joints to hang out at during the day. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars, instead of 5 is because there were some minor issues with the house. We had booked the standard room but were upgraded to the superior suite as the AC in the other rooms were not working. That in itself was fine, but the AC in our room also stopped working on our 2nd night there. It short-circuited on our 3rd night as well and we had to sleep without the AC on a warm night, it was finally fixed the next day. I also found the bathroom of the superior room a little run down, the best bathroom was in the room with the boat-shaped bed. While we were leaving we found out that the owner was visiting the place to figure out the repair that needs to be done at Little Siolim, which means the place will become even better in a few more months. In a nutshell, if you are looking for a cosy villa to stay in North Goa, this is the perfect place. I miss Little Siolim as much as I miss Goa and that is a compliment of the...
Read moreThis review comes quite a bit late but it has always been tugging in my heart to write a review for this cozy quaint little place that made our 3 day trip to Goa one of the most memorable one. Me, my husband and 2 other couples have been wanting a vacation at Goa for a long time. One of us stumbled upon this place Little Siolim online, saw the pictures and booked it right away. This place looks quite simple from outside but man oh man, did we get a surprise when we walked in! Beautiful open pool right in the middle of the building. The monsoon rains just added to its beauty. All the 3 bedrooms and bathrooms are huge and so beautiful. We had a tough time selecting our bedrooms and finally agreed to take turns to spend a night in each bedroom, lol. One of the bedrooms even had an outdoor bathroom with the open sky being your roof. ||Being at Goa, the last thing you want to do is stay indoors but thats exactly what we did. Rain over the pool, great music, Green trees around, best friends, cold beer and warm scrumptious food. Why would anyone want to step out? (Also reminded us that we we are getting old)||Dexter and his family made such amazing food for us, especially the breakfast! Oh, it was yum! They were lovely hosts and gave us complete freedom to enjoy ourselves. We also had the kitchen to ourselves and made our own dinner once.||At the end of 3 days, we just didn't want to leave this place and promised ourselves that we will be back again for our next reunion!||Thanks to Dexter for making this place feel even...
Read moreI have now had two bad experiences at Siolim House. First time I booked for my sister in March. She was coming out from UK with her husband and daughter, and when she saw the room she burst into tears ! It was smelly and dark and hot and the AC machine was dripping onto the floor next to an exposed power extension cord. Needless to say we booked her into another hotel. I thought I would give them a second chance, so booked a room in the Annex in December. DO NOT BOOK this Annex. The website says it's a short walk from the main hotel, which is really not the case. It's probably a 15 minute walk in the heat along the main very busy road which is really quite dangerous. The Annex is right on this road which is very noisy. There is no view from the back, and the front just looks onto this main road. The whole place was dark, claustrophobic, smelly and looked dirty. If it was cheap then you might think you could live with this, but it's actually really expensive ! It's a rip-off. I had stupidly pre-booked and told them to cancel it, but they refused. So not only bad and a rip-off but unreasonable and mean to boot! They only care about money not principles or their reputation. So now they get what they deserve. There are 100s of better places to stay in Goa which are more charming and better value. I recommend trying a...
