Located at very remote place in Goa( may be not actually part of Goa). Mandrem is very end of Goa and you have to travel atleast for 2 hours from hotel to reach local tourist places. In fact, even in Mandrem, it is at very very end of the area where with in 2 kms you will not find single person after 7 pm. Its like scary hotel. And in the name of “peaceful place”, they are selling their rooms. Yes the most worst thing- Hotel has no parking space available. No nearby taxi or cab availability. You have to rely on Hotel’s appointed cab service provider. More worse than above - you have to walk 300 meters in small, dark, jungle like narrow lane to reach hotel gate. I reached hotel at 8:30 pm and while walking in that lane i got bite from some unknown insect but luckily saved myself. No toothpaste, no hair dryer, no shaving kit available with hotel. In morning when i asked hotel staff for toothpaste, they said me to visit nearest shop ( which is 3 km away) to buy it. Food taste is not bearable. Worst food by worst chef. No buffet but Menu based order only. Even in menu, there are 4 types of soups, 5 non veg items, 4 veg sabji, 4 types starters, few rice items only. Even no cold drinks ( except wines and bears in bar) and desserts in menu. Even at Dhaba, you will see good menu with enough options. Anything you order has worst taste. Tea is made from powder so even you cant get proper tea. For That powder tea they charge INR 160. So don’t ask for other food item prices. Stayed in premium room, Room no 205, floor of the room generates water due to faulty central AC cooling system. You will always find moisture on floor. Private beach is worst. Not at all clean. No chairs or any sitting facility available at beach area. House keeping service is worst. Even after making 5 calls to pick used plates from room, no one came. At last, i kept dishes out of my room near by door, but still until next day evening, when I brought one housekeeping guy on my own , plates finally taken care. Restaurant area has no AC. Only breakfast with limited options. There is only one juice available in breakfast everyday which is kokum juice which no one will like to have. You won’t believe but they even dont put butter knife at serving area. You have to specifically ask staff for butter knife who brings it every time from inside kitchen. They put water filled glass at Bar area in kitchen with no cover on top and it has been kept like that for hours for hotel guests. You can see layer of dust on top of water in every glass. Once you reach hotel on first day, you will have first thought in your mind “where the hell i am?”. In fact, this would remain in mind until you leave this place. Every 15 minutes, there is power cut but yes it comes back as soon as it goes off. But who likes this in hotel. Yes literally power cut problem every 15 minutes Booked stay for 4 nights, Have to leave place in two nights as not bearable In short, If someone offer me free stay at Regenta Mandrem , i would rather...
Read moreRegenta Place is a resort located at Mandrem in North Goa. This resort is equipped with water front rooms, restaurant, swimming pool, suite rooms etc. The property is well maintained with a a fine flora of garden and lush lawn...The rooms are located in multi storied separated wings named A, B, C, D etc...
Main attractions of the resort include its own beach which can be accessed by walk from the resort itself, its lush green flora, water front rooms and the swimming pool..
Main drawback of the resort is its location.. The property does not have direct access for 4-wheelers. Guests need to 'walk' through country pathway for about 100-200 meters to reach the reception. Once you reach the reception by walk, the receptionist will send boys to pick-up your luggage and after that take your car keys to park the car to hotel's reserved parking lot which is again about 1Km away from the hotel. So if you need your car to go out of the resort for any reason, you need to intimate the same to the reception well in advance so that the hotel staff will drive down the car from the parking space which is 1Km away.
The resort is located quite far from the town and other major tourist attractions of North Goa like Aguda fort, various beaches, church etc.
Another draw back is the restaurant. You cannot find wide variety of cuisines here... Reason may be due to limited visitors view Covid-19. Taste and quality of the a la-carte food is also not upto the mark. However, the complementary breakfast is quite OK. During lunch I have ordered typical Goan food suggested by the steward 'fish curry + rice', but the fish turned out to be too fishy... :). I was amazed to find the price of 'masala papad' to be Rs 150 per plate which is never more than Rs 60-80 in other hotels. Since the food in the restaurant was not good, I had visited the restaurant of a nearby resort (Dunes Holiday Village), which is about 300-400 meters walkable distance from Regenta Place Resort, where you will find wide variety of cuisine along with live music band.
You may feel lack of maintenance in the rooms, peeled off wall papers etc. But sometimes I feel pity since the tourism industry is struggling hard to breath during the times of the pandemic and the limited revenue may not be the adequate for maintenance..
Anyway, I would recommend you to stay at this resort if you are interested in spending some quality peaceful time inside the resort itself and to enjoy the clean and peaceful private beach with your partner/ family.
If you are planning only for 'stay' and intend venturing other attractions of North Goa, its better to stay in other hotels which are near to the town and having better...
Read moreIn one word it was not a good experience. We were 2 couples wanted to have good workcation with proper wifi and a perfect weekend. We booked 2 sea facing room. We reached resort at around 12.45 and it all begins therefrom- The way to resort was so confusing and were unable to find untill we called the resort and a staff came to help. They asked to park there in but houses nearby had objection which is obvious and then we had to deal with parking issues At reception we were informed that only 1 sea facing room is available and rest were booked. After g asking about our confirmation and booking details and much discussions at 2 pm they gave as 1 more room saying ite AC was under maintenance and is then repaired . We entered the room, the floor was fully wet , bathroom has water on mirror, tere was water everywhere in room, under bed on mirrors, I slipped 5 times over there. Even after calling for help and trying all measured the water couldn't be dried out. Rooms were not sanitized, toiletries were not provided and even cupboards have all garbage left by previous guests.in short basic check were not done before giving the room After all these arguments and discussions we finally got room at 5pm and untill 8 pm we couldn't adjust in the room as it still has water everywhere. They finally agreed to give a new room After 8pm.,which is beyond our understanding as the hunting 4pm they didn't have another room and was fully booked. Now to rectify their flaws they offered as complimentary dinner for the period of out stay. Bingo there is a new drama over here. As it was complimentary we couldn't order anything from menu. We were provided with another menu with just one option in all category to order from. Let's talk about our workcation here, wifi speed was so less that we could not even connect. Couldn't even get mobile network. Our weekdays went either in complaining about problems there or in searching ...
