Mapusa Residency — Hotel in Goa

I recently had a highly disappointing experience at Mapusa Residency, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts to warn others. To put it simply, the rooms were third class and far from satisfactory.

Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed that the fan was not functioning properly. The air circulation was inadequate, leaving the room feeling stuffy and uncomfortable. Despite attempting to adjust the fan settings. This made it extremely difficult to relax or even sit comfortably.

Moreover, the bathroom was in an appalling condition. The stench was overpowering, and it was evident that the maintenance and cleanliness standards were lacking. This unpleasant odor made it unbearable to spend any time in the bathroom, let alone use its facilities.

To make matters worse, my experience with the hotel staff was equally disappointing. I had booked my stay through MakeMyTrip (MMT) and, unfortunately, my dissatisfaction with the hotel led me to check out within five minutes of checking in. I immediately contacted MMT to request a cancellation and refund through the MMT platform, but my efforts were in vain. The manager of Mapusa Residency proved to be non-responsive and unhelpful, leaving me feeling frustrated and cheated.

As a customer, I believe it is essential to receive the service and quality promised during a hotel stay. Mapusa Residency failed to meet even the most basic expectations, from the malfunctioning fan and stinky bathroom to the unresponsiveness of the manager. I strongly advise potential guests to reconsider their choice of accommodation and explore alternatives in the area.

Overall, my experience at Mapusa Residency was extremely disappointing, and I regret the decision to stay there. This hotel is a stone throw away from the Mapusa Bus stand. Location wise, the hotel is great. It’s a very economical place. If you’re on a shoe string budget and not too fussy about the frills of comfortable holidaying then Mapusa Residency is the place for you. The staff is helpful and accommodative. The staff, at the restaurant, are friendly and courteous. ||In terms of ambience and cleanliness though, the hotel is lousy. The cleanest part of the hotel is the lobby area. Once you cross that threshold, it’s very evident that you’re in a baldy maintained ancient building. The rooms are small and very basic. The walls are chipped in places and the rooms carry an odour of neglect and dampness. The ‘complimentary’ breakfast is lousy. Make sure you order everything on the menu because ordering an omelette will give you only one slice of bread. ||The attached hotel, named Heera serves good Goan food, but we all fell sick with diarrhoea after eating two consecutive meals from the hotel. Best budget friendly hotel located in the heart of Mapusa city. Bus & Taxi/Auto stand are right in front of hotel. Also Thivim railway station is 9 kms from hotel. It's a Goa tourism hotel. Property is old but maintained well by GTDC. Rooms are clean & pretty spacious equipped with LED satellite TV (all channels are available), electric geyser, AC, fan, centre table & chairs, dressing table, wardrobe, etc. Each room has an individual balcony. Toilets are neat & clean. They provide clean towels & 2 bathing soaps as toiletries. The bed & mattress are comfortable with clean bedsheets and pillows. Staff are polite and courteous. 24 hours security & ample parking space is there. They have an in-house restaurant & bar (Kubers Kitchen) which serves authentic & tasty Goan, North Indian & South Indian delicacies. Goan special fish thali is a must try.
