I would like to share my experience with this restaurant is as pathetic...forget about food ambience service etc ... The bill which was given was wrongly calculated and placed before me....we usually tend to see the total bill amount and pay.....since it was a manual bill I just saw the total and bifurcation too and then realised that the total was wrong....when I was trying to cal the waiter he is so tude and even not bothered to attend me at all after failing to get his attention.....I went to the counter where one lady was sitting even she ignored to address my query and called the waiter and told him that see, he (telling about me) is having some confusion like that.....even then also he rudely answered me that u calculate and see it is correct..then I told that lady the total is wrong still she was having dead reaction on her face instead of apologising me she just said ok.....is this kind of answer we expect from the cash counter person? those things we customers have to think, May be owner's person was sitting there if so, then have to be addressed immediately and see to that this kind of issues will not happen anytime in future. , if say this is small thing....as I read somewhere 1000 customers walk in everyday if it happens with atleast 100 people, then How much extra amount this restaurant will get unethically just we all customer have to think. that's it..... If anyone goes there please see the bill thoroughly and then pay.... (I have a photo of original bill if anyone wants proof in black and white can...
Read moreFor some reason, Vrundavan is a popular name for restaurants in western India. (Vrindavan has an ancient past, associated with Hindu history, and is an important Hindu pilgrimage site, or so the Net tells me.) This one, a veg restaurant, is based in Mapusa, close to the Municipal Garden area, and next to Hotel Le Jardin.
The food here is typically veg, and the meals for lunch and dinner revolve around the standard vegetarian rice plate (rice, curries, vegetable, a papad, bowl of curd, pickle &c). It's filling and reasonably priced; I think it's in the Rs 60-70 range now.
They have a number of other items on the Indian veg and Chinese menus. Also, some sweets, including typically-local cashew-made ladoos, etc. Their staff is fast and efficient and their management (the guy sitting on the counter) is friendly. Contrary to what someone else said, the prices here are not high. It might seem high, because Goa generally (thanks to having many tourist and expat visitors) is generally higher priced than neighbouring areas of India.
Nice food. Quick service. Reasonable prices. Easy to recommend. I'm often eating my meals here when I have the excuse to eat a hurried Mapusa meal .... Setting is basic and not luxury. The crowd one encounters sometimes could reflect the good value for money (or is it the lack of choice the Mapusa generally offers in terms of...
Read moreI've been going here for years. Food is good in taste and quantity is provided well. Prices are fractionally higher than other hotels, not not so much as to pinch your wallet. And the very slightly higher price is made up for in good service. At first it was a regular Goan style restaurant serving udupi breakfast items, lunch and dinner. But recently they have really expanded the menu, with introduction of Pizzas, Burgers, Pav Bhaji, and many types of chaats. Their manu now has almost all typical North Indian and South Indian dishes, in addition to the udupi and go am dishes that they used to always serve. In addition they have reinvented their milk product based menu with introduction of a lot of milky deserts and sweets. They have baked goods like biscuits and dry snack items like Chivda, Chakri etc, which they make in house, and it's very good. They have also introduced a lot many fresh fruit juices. Owner is a very friendly and soft spoken man. Staff is also very friendly in their own way and they almost always have smile on their faces. A bit crowded at peak times. All and all I like this place. I can afford what they are serving, the food is of good healthy quality, and good taste. I'm a frequent customer...
