Rosario's Inn — Hotel in Goa

Well, this is my twentieth consecutive Western Tourist Season staying with the Fernandes family, at their Guest House, Rosario's Inn, off of Beach Road, Benaulim, which has got to say something about the place, no? Possibly, the fact that the Goan Winter is warmer than our warmest Summer, and coincides with our Winter?||||To be fair, the reason that most of us come back, year after year, is to meet all of our lovely friends. Friends we do occasionally see when we are back in our home countries.||||The room rates are reasonable, and offer basic accommodation. In the main, twin-bedded rooms, with en-suite bathroom (wet room/shower room with WC, c/w solar panel heated water).||||All rooms have ceiling fans, and a veranda, if on ground floor, or shared access balcony if on an upper floor.||||The property is walled, and a night guard and charming well behaved dog named Blackie provide static security at the entrance throughout the hours of darkness.||||The "Restaurant Shack" is run by Nickael and her husband Santana, with help, as and when required, from an Indian cook.||||Santana's background was working for an international hotel, hospitality, and cruise group, latterly based permanently ashore at one of their properties in Bermuda. This has guaranteed a very high standard of international cuisine, in addition to the Indian staples. So, excellent breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.||||Free Wi-Fi, for customers, and TV in the restaurant shack, which has recently had the ubiquitous plastic chairs upgraded to nice bentwood cane numbers. It was alot harder than expected for us to find a room for one night suitable for backpackers, most places were full, didn't want to accept one night, or were over 1000rs a night. This place was in our guidebook so we finally decided to check it out after being refused by so many.. They said yes and we got a room for 600rs which I think she said was 800rs originally. The room was fine but nothing special. Relatively quite and away from the road but the bedding didn't smell clean and didn't seem as though it had been changed. I had booked 10 rooms for my wedding in June 17 for 2 days. My family had gone in early for the arrangements. We had taken a flat for few days. The 2 bedroom that was given to us was horrible with lizards and ants in the kitchen. An old fridge that barely worked. Flooring not cleaned. The toilet had cockroaches. When we confronted the owner the next day and complained about it he refused to take any action, on top of that when my mother said that we were leaving he said he threatened to lock us in the compound till we made the payment. I have never seen such a bad customer service and arrogance of the owner towards their customers. I would suggest people to check and double check before going to this place.
