This is the third time in a span of less than 6 months that we are staying here. THough the check in was comparatively smooth then the last time however totally disappointed with the restaurant. We had a early morning flight to a goa so we were hungry by the time we reached the restaurant around 9:45 am and even before checking in we decided to have our breakfast at Cotinga, Priya at the restaurant could easily recognise us and was very welcoming. Traveling around 200-250 days an year for business as well leisure has made us well versed with practices, norms and the standards of hospitality industry. We informed Priya that we shall be paying for the food we are going to have today and she suggested to go for the buffet breakfast to which we also agreed. As soon as we grabbed the plates Mr. Rajesh the manager asked us for our room number to which we replied that we are yet to check in and we shall pay for today’s breakfast. But he was constantly keeping an eye on us and/or following up with the restaurant staff if they had presented the bill to us or if we had paid the same or not which was a direct hit to our self respect still we tried to ignore the incident. Then at night we came back around 10:40-45 and just got to know that some cleaning process was scheduled at 11pm Mr. Manager aka Rajesh had the audacity to stop us at the stairs of the restaurant and look at his wrist watch and tell us that they have a pest control scheduled at 11pm so we better hurry up. We were furious and it is not at all like we won’t get food anywhere in Goa if this man has refused us but we decided to have our dinner at Cotinga only and there were guests who were having the food and were still ordering. This is total arrogance and negative gesture towards a guest and Mr Rajesh still had the audacity to justify his actions stating that since he hadn’t seen his watch for 2-3 hours he decided to have a look at it by stopping us even before entering into the restaurant on the steps and that too when we were before your so called scheduled timing of pest control. Really bad and totally unprofessional and arrogant behaviour. Mr. & Ms. Arya you need to really groom your staff they are the face of your business and the first point of contact...

My friends and I (4 girls) stayed at the Tamarind hotel for 2 nights and while the place is a visual treat, the pleasant part ends there. The hotel staff is by far the worst I've met with in all my life. Since we were a party of only girls, safety was of utmost importance to us. We wanted to attend a party in another part of Goa (the location was a little isolated) so the four of us agreed to go only after receiving confirmation from the hotel staff that they would drop AND pick us up from the party. Furthermore, we were assured that they would give us another cab if the other driver was unavailable. The same story was corroborated by the cab driver as well. The hotel even shared the number to call for a pickup. All was well until with the drop. However, when we called them to pick us up, we were informed that it would not be possible to pick us up as their ONE AND ONLY DRIVER was already engaged in another pickup. Imagine this: 4 female tourists, inebriated, stuck at an isolated pub with virtually no way to get back. After much argument with the hotel staff, horrified that they couldn't arrange a single cab (that they had committed to) in a location as tourist-driven as Goa and neither too late (it was only 12.30 in the night), we gave up and looked for another way to get back. The worst part was that the hotel staff promptly arranged a cab when we threatened to post a bad review of the experience online. Which means: they could have arranged transport, but chose not to. We politely informed them that we had secured our own means and thanked them for their service.

Another horrible experience; when we were clearing bills, they charged us for a drop we didn't avail, the receptionist told us "she had been informed from her sources that we had been to the location". I informed her that she could confirm with the driver if needed to which she told me that "let's not get into these details". I informed her that she mustn't make accusations if she wasn't prepared to seek the truth. End result: afraid we might escalate the matter, she offered us a discount to appease us.

All in all: hotel staff should be removed from the HOSPITALITY business or at the very least, taught what their...

I regret selecting Tamarind Hotel when I was booking for my honeymoon trip. They use dirty tactics to get money out of your pocket. On the day of my arrival I reached hotel two hours before the check-in time. The person at reception told me that you'll have to wait till 11am as the rooms are occupied. Then he told me that there is an emergency vacant room where you can rest but it will cost you additional 1000 rs. So even after paying full amount while booking online, I had to pay extra 1000 rs for staying 2 hours. Later the room which was given to us to rest turned out to be the room which was allotted to us which means the room was already vacant when we got into the hotel. When we asked for breakfast as it was included in our package, he told us that the breakfast will be available from tomorrow onwards as the official check-in timing is 11 am and you'll have to pay additional 350 per person for ordering breakfast today which we refused and went out to dine outside. On the last day after checking out I received a call from the hotel when I was at the airport that they found a glass broken in the bathroom. I told him that I am pretty sure that I haven't damaged a thing and they should have checked my room when I was checking out. A day before check out the cleaning staff had cleaned my room & bathroom and didn't inform about any kind of damage. They told me that you'll have to pay 4000 for repairing the damage. After long discussions they agreed to settle at rs 2000 (for something which we didn't even do). So I had to pay a total of rs 3000 other than the amount I paid during online booking. It was our first trip to Goa and our honeymoon but was spoiled due to this bad experience. I won't recommend this hotel to anyone. Also, for any traveller I would recommend to take a complete video of the room at the time of check-in and check-out to avoid such incident...

We stayed at Tamarind by Zinc for 2 nights and it did not live up to our expectations at all. Pros:- 1) Front desk team - quick to respond, cheerful and helpful. 2) Location - very well located to all the amazing places Anjuna has to offer. Cons:- 1) Restaurant - Based on the amount they charge for the room, the variety of what's available as part of the breakfast buffet is disappointing. The buffet is mainly vegetarian with egg being the only non veg option. For coffee, they keep the same coffee and milk sachets they keep in the room!! I ordered a cafe latte and when I informed the manager that the coffee tasted off, he said that they only use Blue Tokai and it cannot be bad! As an avid Blue Tokai coffee drinker, that annoyed me and it made no sense at all! 2) Property - The property is not well maintained and looks run down. The pool always has empty cans and plates around it and that made it difficult to enjoy the facilities. 3) Rooms - The rooms were not set up properly. The toiletries were not replenished and the room definitely had a run down feeling. We had seen The Tamarind on our visit many years ago and had stopped by for some amazing coffee and desserts. So we were looking forward to staying here but sadly it was a very disappointing experience!

What an incredible experience. We stayed there for 3 days with my wife and my toddler, resort staffs were extremely helpful, cleaned the room whenever requested. Even you get curated menu for your little menu (saada daal, khichdi, etc..) Food: Breakfast buffet was so delicious, except Sambhar, which I think is a bit spicy to start off the day with. I found their in-house cafe (Cotinga Cafe) is a bit expensive, but taste and portion was satisfactory. They'll provide cutlery if you order via swiggy or zomato which is great. Network: Airtel network is so bad that you won't receive any cellular calls, they have wifi inside which isn't extraordinary (2-3mbps). Resort vibe: Vibe is so nice that you will fall in love with this property. The swimming pool is very clean, but not toddler friendly (depth is more than 3 feet). Location: It's in middle of famous beaches. One can reach Vagator, Anjuna, Baga Calangute, in 15-20 mins from the resort. Rental bikes: It's available right in front of the resort.

This was my second stay here and despite the heavy downpours, my room was so comfortable , coupled with the service and the great food at the restaurant/cafe. Room service makes it so convenient. The rooms are clean, modern and functional especially the rain showers in the bathroom. Moving around is easy - the hotel gets you cabs and you can rent a car/bike from them, if needed. The pool is in the middle of the hotel and well maintained. There are plenty of photo ops around the property and it's just a few kilometers from the beach/Anjuna main drag. This is a wonderful, peaceful nest in North Goa that's well worth every penny. Certainly not my last stay and I look forward to my next visit to The Tamarind. The bar has a good collection of Craft Beers I might add and some great cocktails. Don't forget to try the freshly baked cakes and eclairs - so good! Cheers & Stay Frothy.
