"Miraculous Cross of Anjuna" or "Dongravaylo Khuris" or "Gorvam Raknneincho" is present over the hill and have to climb around 400 (some say 333) steps (takes around 5 to 8 min), after spending so much energy and stamina the satisfaction at the top is assured by cool breez and view if the bottom and some quality quite time with friends or loved ones. While climbing the steps you will read stories of Lord Jesus Christ called as "14 Station of the Cross". And on the top the is Milagrincho Khuris. Which is believed earlier that it saved Anjuna Village. As name suggest, it is miraculous as it is believed that if you pray and wish something while climbing up it is fulfilled. Though facts are not properly known but some people say that somewhere in 1600s when church construction was going on labourers were sent uphill to bring stone, but since they were afraid of wild animals, a cross with 3 laterite was built as their safety. And residents of there then began worshipping the cross. Since many used to go uphill into dense forest earlier to get food (from kaju plantation). In a way when there was lack of rain they used to get food over there and their wish would fulfill and get light shower of rain while they reach to the to making is miraculous for devotees. Later the around 1990s steps and proper path were created Further recently in 2000s stadium with sitting for 1500 and more devotees were made.

Well there are quite a few miraculous crosses in goa, another famous one being the one at Bambolim just off the highway (NH-17) which connect North Goa to the airport. This one is located in Anjuna on the Anjuna-Mapusa road. Very serene place and near it's atar is an explanation of the significance of the cross. You need to climb a few winding steps to get to the top. You will get a good exercise and your stamina and devotion will be put through a small test. DOn't worry you will survive. At least try as the view from atop is beautiful and the crucifix and altar itself is magnificent and is quite peaceful up there, Local and visitors alike believe that if you pray to the cross, your wishes will come true. They have a beautiful procession for the stations of the Cross or the Way of the Cross, also known as Way of Sorrows or Via Crucis. People come from as far as Vasco by the bus load.

Located on a hill, the climb is a good 400 steps. Actual footsteps including climbing steps could be around 650. Atop, there is a setting for a mass congregation with an altar, the miraculous cross and an open air seating. There are 14 stations of the Cross pillared along the way. Also known as the Way of Sorrows or the Via Crucis, refers to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers. The place is eventful during the season of Lent, particularly Good Friday and Easter.

Very peaceful place

Must visit when in North Goa

During the lent Season they perform the Way of the cross here

It’s very close to the Anjuna St. Michaels church and there is no Fee or open n close timing here

The view also from the top is something amazing and breath taking

They have renovated the place very nicely

Be careful as u will pass wild creatures like snake, scorpion

Also it’s a famous place for couples (i seen 3 on my way to the top) not appreciated but they have used this quite place as well

Nevertheless must visit, not recommended for elderly n women who...
