We were a group of 10 adults and 4 kids, including senior citizens, and unfortunately, our 3-day stay at The Ireland, Manali was disappointing from the very first day.
On Day 1, I requested an extra mattress for my mother due to her back pain, specifically asking for a harder one. The local staff clearly confirmed that since there was no extra person, the extra bedding wouldn’t be chargeable. However, during checkout, we were billed for it, with the justification that it covered washing costs something that could easily have been managed within our 5-room, 3-day booking.
The major issue lies in the poor coordination between the local staff and the management team (apparently located in Gurgaon). All communication had to go through this remote manager, which made even simple requests complicated. For example, during dinner on the first night, I called the Gurgaon manager to check if we could place a dinner order (even though we had initially said we wouldn’t). She said yes and took the order. However, after waiting for over an hour, nothing was ready. Food came out dish by dish, with no rotis or rice we had to wait another 20+ minutes each time for just a few rotis. When I complained, the Gurgaon manager claimed we had earlier refused dinner, while the local staff said the chef wasn’t available. It was complete chaos and mismanagement.
To be fair, the local staff tried their best and were polite throughout, but the system they work under is clearly broken. They have no real authority or resources to manage guest needs effectively.
Power outages added to the misery , we had no electricity from 12 AM to 6 AM on Day 1 and again from 6 PM to 8 PM on Day 2, while other hotels nearby had power backup. The inverter or generator here was not functional.
Lastly, 3 out of 5 rooms didn’t even have exhaust fans in the bathrooms, which is unacceptable for any hotel.
Overall, from Day 1 to Day 3, it was not a pleasant or comfortable experience. The property itself may look fine, but poor management, lack of coordination, and inadequate facilities made our stay...
