We had a wedding reception at this hotel. We booked few rooms in advance, as a matter of the fact, booked few months before the reception. Following is our experience: Every thing was fine till the guests arrived, they arrived on the 6th evening and we heard that all the rooms did not have water pressures as well as no hot water. We had complained to the management and they said they will get it sorted. There came more guests on the day of reception night (8th Feb ) but our guests being to nice to us didnt want to bother us about these issues. 1) We thought every thing was going really good until on the reception night, the bride and the groom went to one of the managers on duty and asked for the bridal room but apparently they dont provide one on a wedding reception. We had 8 rooms booked and we asked the manager for a list of guest natme and they didn't have one. We were one room short as it is and so I had requested for a room at-lease for the bride and the groom and the answer was "oh ya we have a room but no water in that room". And the bride and the groom went to one or the rooms of the guests to freshen up. 2) The fact of the matter is the guests did not have any water from the 6th till the 9th evening, before they were checking out. 3) One of the guests, my friend, who had traveled from a different part of India booked herself in to the same hotel. She rang me in the morning saying there were two guys in her room, while she was in the shower, to fix some water issue. They should've rang the phone before they just barged into her room ( she was so scared )!! How could a hotel give the room master card to someone, to let themselves into a guest's room (esp. a woman)?!! Hence key points below:
I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone. However, having said all of this, the only thing that was good about the hotel...
Read moreI recently stayed in the SPG Grand Hotel for 5 days and it was beyond disappointing. My friends are I were there to celebrate another friend's wedding. Upon arriving in my room I discovered that the television didn't work, the windows wouldn't seal (allowing a lot of outside noise into the room) and we had NO HOT WATER.
We immediately contacted the reception to inform them about our television and the hot water situation. We were told that the hot water in the entire hotel was out. They told me they were seeing to it. Regarding the TV situation a staff member came to our room and fiddled around with the cables and remote control for 20 minutes before leaving. On the way out they indicated they would be back or that someone else would be back later to fix it. Nobody ever returned.
Over the next 5 days we returned to the recpetion again and again to enquire about the hot water. On the 3rd day of having no hot water whatsover, I visited the recption again to find the recptionist asleep behind the desk. I asked him when the hot water would return? He told me, very bluntly, that it's not coming back! What that even meant, I do not know.
We stayed 5 night there with ZERO HOT WATER. It was appalling. My entire group and I were unable to have a single hot shower throughout our stay which was a complete and utter disgrace. There was no apology and nothing was ever said to us about it apart from when we specifically asked staff members about it.
A really awful experience overall. I would not recommend. Any amount of time in a hot climate like India has with no hot shower is something I would not wish on anybody and the hotel's handling (or lack thereof) of the situation was beyond a joke. I'd go into more detail on everything but honestly I don't want to spend any more time thinking...
Read moreHad been to the restaurant with friends on a weekend night (Mar 25/Sat). We were on our way home from an outing and starving. One of my friends suggested this place & we went ahead, but we were in doubt whether would get a table as it was weekend. Interiors was very well done. The place is huge. It was a weekend and 8 member group managed to get a table in 2 minutes. The waiting staff are well dressed and polite. Coming to the food, l like the varieties they offer. Only con is the food here is spicy, way over my spice threshold. I wish they add extra info next to their dishes in the menu book about the spicy levels indicating how spicy is the dish. This will give an heads up to the patrons especially when they visiting this place for the first time. We ordered around 11 dishes, a few multiple times. The best one was Chicken Patiyala. Though too spicy it was very well done. Was disappointed with Appolo Fish as they served a soft-gravied version when I was expecting a crispy-dry version. Prawns curry too was very good except for being too spicy. The tip is if you can't tolerate the spice it is recommended to let the staff know before hand that you can't tolerate too much spice so they will inform their cooking staff to tone down on the spice. This worked with the two Mutton dishes we ordered later. The toned down version of Mutton rara was yummy. For drinks and deserts we had Virgin Mojito, sizzling chocolate brownies and butter scotch ice cream. The total bill came around 12.7k which is like 1500 per person which makes slightly an expensive restaurant considering the quantity they serve. Overall, it was a decent experience. Would recommended otherz to give this restaurant a try if you are hungry and happen to be in the...
