Really appalled at the upkeep and maintainence of the rooms. We booked 2 royal rooms.on our arrival, they did not have one room ready so asked us to use another room on the second floor. The wc was dirty, we asked the housekeeping to clean it again. However the staff started saying we have just cleaned it even though dirty marks were evident. On day 2 after returning from outside we saw that the housekeeping had only made the bed in our room and the dusty table surfaces were as it is because we had made tea the previous eveing and some powdered sugar had fallen on the table and it was still there. Also, two complimentary bottles of water which is there everywhere was missing in the room. So I went and asked in the reception what is the SOP followed by the staff when they come to service the room. The manager sheepishly said we only give two small 500 bottles of water at the time of check in and I can send someone to clean now which I refused since we were out all morning and did not want to be disturbed by their presence when our toddler was resting. The other royal room that was made available to us on the next day had no water supply in the shower so again we had to tell them to get it fixed. Every single area in the "palace" Is dirty. Starting from the rooms that had cobwebs in all corners of the ceiling, and all table and sofa surfaces full of dust, the rugs and carpets that haven't been washed in years, to the library which is infested with insects that have destroyed the books to powder. Show pieces in the dining area haven't been dusted in i dont know how long. Cutlery also is not the cleanest. The cleanest area of the whole propertyis the pool which is cleaned by the kitchen staff. One day my daughter slipped and fell in an area in the lounge and her pants picked up on the dust from the wooden flooring. The only saving grace is the half decent and limited "English" breakfast they provide. .
The bathrooms have no exhaust fans and smell musty all day.. There is only one plug point in the bedrooms so you need to carry the kettle to the other end of the room to get warm water. You will need to ask the reception for a multiplug to charge your phones, laptops or other gadgets.
It's surprising to know that the owners apparently live in the same building and are blind Or purposerfully careless to the rot that's decaying right under theirbnoses. Over all a very dissapointing experience and extremely dissatisfied...
Read moreHaving booked a Royal Chamber, we were given room #135. Its inside did indeed look very royal: lovely furniture, even a small fountain at the entryway, things looked very good indeed. Unfortunately this room has a view of the other side of the street, where some establishment decided to play earsplittingly-loud music on two of our three nights here until far too late. Other than that, the location was excellent: walking distance to the Chandpol entrance to the old center of Jaipur. The swimming pool was nice and cold, and the front desk connected us with a reliable taxi driver for a day trip to Amber fort. So why is this not a five-star review? Three reasons, in order of increasing gravity. One: the water pressure in the shower was nowhere near good enough. Two: despite handing over the keys to the front desk on each day of our stay, and despite explicitly asking for housekeeping on the second day, our room was never cleaned: no emptied dustbins, no fresh towels, no fresh sheets, nothing. And three: when checking out, the staff made me actively argue why I wanted to pay by creditcard. This is unacceptable: this hotel advertises that cards are accepted here, so don't give me some weird spiel about how it's better for me to pay in cash. It is nonsense. Me paying in cash might be better for you, but all it means for me is an additional unnecessary trip to the ATM, which is strictly worse for me. It's really a shame: with a few small improvements this could easily have been a...
Read moreThe oldest Heritage property in Jaipur. This hotel is situated near Chandpol and in very old and interior area of Jaipur. This hotel caters majorly Foreign Tourists only and not having experience of Domestic clients taste and wishlist, due to this domestic tourism claims lot of problems and issues. This property is huge in terms of landscape so required lighting in night to kill dark experience post evening. Property is having lots of historical things kept and preserved in as it is format. Highly recommended place for Writers, poets, actors, spiritual people. Also people looking for pre-wedding shoot or small movies to shoot can visit this place. Food is awesome in terms of taste and service is also good, special mention for Mr Pawan. Surrounding is little poor, pathetic and crowdy which actually kills the aura and made this place poor. Royal chamber is highly recommended to stay, just need to remove fountain from inside the room. Bathrooms need more beautification, landline is not working, Jio Mobile network is not working inside. But for modern taste to feed, hotel is having 5 Feet depth Pool, Punching Bag, Skipping rope, Snooker Table, Music Room, Sigdi for winters night. Overall good place. I suggest to hire a good Hotel Consultant to work closely for betterment and improvement. 51 Rooms hotel must be having good...
