House Of Touristers — Hotel in Jaipur Municipal Corporation

The couple who run it, don't have the right attitude to run a hostel, both miserable, from the start I felt unwelcome. I'm sure the woman especially just doesn't like people, so she's in the wrong line of work. The 4 bed dorm I had booked with fan, was a tiny box room with no windows and 2 bunks squeezed in, was just a hotbox, like something out of an old prison documentary. Don't bother ordering food, I ordered besan chilla for breakfast and it took 30 minutes, I hoped this was a one of, so made the mistake of ordering dinner, I waited over 1.5 hours just for vegetable rice....absolute shambles, they then had the cheek to charge 18% gst, telling me that restaurants charge 18%, only roadsides are 5%, I've been in India 3 months, I'm white, not stupid! "It is 18% GST on restaurant services including room service and takeaway provided by restaurants located within a hotel featuring room tariffs over Rs. 7,500." He doesn't have a room that expensive. He doesn't even know the rules which shows he made them up, he clearly doesn't declare food sales on his tax bill! All this for an extra 20 rupees, pure greed and lies to go with it. When I mentioned to both the owners about how long for took, they didn't even apologize, like when is 90minutes ever acceptable to wait for vegetable rice?! Didn't even care! The place was dirty, dirt and rubbish had been swept into a pile in the main hall that sat there for 2 full days without being picked up. I was booked to stay 5 nights, I left after 3! There's also nowhere else to eat in close proximity to the property so really not ideal. Probably best to avoid this place and book somewhere else, I have low standards in India as I've been here a while, but genuinely the worst hostel I've stayed in, and I've been in some bad ones. I wish I could ban or discard this backpacker/ hostel, I've stayed here for 2 nights.

My experience:

Know about host: host Couple name (Aman & Diya), both are arrogant, don't have manners, they don't have experience for hosting.

How they do they Fool/Scam you: Scam 1: they will tell you we fully packed, and require little more time to clean your room, in meanwhile please have your breakfast which is from our side (not so great, I will rate 0.5/5) plates and cup are not clean at all!!!!! After that they will charge you with huge amount say 8 euro for tea and one plate poha. Scam 2: they will give you worst room, with no ventilation not even exhaust fan in bathroom, with roaches under your bed and unhygienic bathroom and bed. Bed is not clean at all, it has blood stain on it. Scam 3: they will tell you you have booked room without AC so you want to use you have to pay extra for that, I mean Seriously what the hell these Guyz are planning to. Scam 4: if you complain about these issue to them, they will tell you one couple is leaving in an hour so we will give you that room, they will give you room just like that without cleaning the room. Scam 5: they have rats all over the place. Scam 6: they charge everything extra from foreign tourists.

If you are coming to place don't ever come, don't ever think to come at all.

Look for different...

We made the booking for a private room through Agoda. On reaching at 8PM, first we found out there is no space to park as the property is on the 3rd floor of a market complex. The locals helped park the bike inside the market in front of closed shop shutters. On reaching the counter, we were told that facility does not take booking through Agoda and private room is sold out for that night. We were offered the empty AC dorm for one night on the pretext that it will be empty and they will shift us to the private room the next morning. The room was dirty and linen was stained but we agreed as we didnt want to move out and look for new place so late. At 1 AM they got new guests who made ruckus and we had to move out of the room to settle down. The property management did nothing to manage the scene. A puppy dog had been caged next to the reception which kept barking all night. In morning when we asked the manager to let the dog out they poked the dog with a stick to make it quiet down instead. We decided to not continue the next day, the property manager did nothing to compensate for the bad experience. Food was overcharged as they put tax and gave a paper bill instead of tax invoice.
