It was a lovely stay in there except few bad experiences!! 4.5 rating.
ROOM AND BATHROOM: • Rooms were neat and clean. I liked the design and interior of the dorms. We three of us stayed in 4 bed dorms. • They have curtains in each bed to maintain privacy. The ground floor washroom was big but some smell was coming out of it. Other bathrooms are neat and clean. • They have in total 82 bed dorms and divided in to 8 bed, 6 bed and 4 bed dorms. They do have male dorms, female dorms and mixed dorms also. • Two charging points, one lamp and a fan are provided in each bed. Quilt, a cushion and pillow are being provided. • No toiletries will be provided so bring your own. COMMON AREA: • There is one TV room which has large projector with 80W sound speaker. In the night we can see it clearly, but in the day time its not clearly visible. They should change the curtains and make the room little bit darker. • They do have A pool table, carrom, chess, badminton (not court), and foosball • They also have some common seating area • They also have one big round shape swing (jhula) • Bonfire starts at night 9 pm and you can sit there with other groups and have fun RULES: • Silence time is from night 10 pm to morning 8 am • Smoking and alcohol is not allowed in the room KITCHEN SERVICE: • I liked their food quality • It was pocket friendly (coffee categories: Rs 50/*- to 70/-, breakfast: Rs. 30/- to Rs 80/-, Combos: Rs. 149 to Rs. 249/-) • Morning start time is 7 am, I am not sure about the end time but it would be around 11pm or 12am CONS: • We were playing music with our own speaker with moderate sound at bonfire. I know we were wrong at that time. But the way they asked to stop playing music was very bad. They said “Music khud ko sun na hai, sabko nahi sunana hai.” • When we entered there and we were in our car, and one of their guy said, “Abhi check in nahi hoga, 1 baje ke baad hoga.” I know that they have strict rule regarding check in timing but they should greet the guest in a polite way. • They charged thrice i.e., Rs 1881/- (inc. tax) instead of the Rs. 662/- for per bed due to the peak time. However, this price was showing online in their website PROS: • They allowed us to stay in the common area and use the common washroom, after the checkout time. I really liked this. • I liked the common areas. However, if the area of the campus were more, we would have enjoyed more. I would definitely recommend this...
Read moreBooked this hostel because it was near to the city except that nothing much was better at the hostel. Now let me come to specifics There is a rule that silence hours to be observed after 10 pm till morning. Now people are busy working or local sight seeing till evening and after getting freshened up we hardly get an hour or two to mingle up with fellow hostellers and then the property manager will start bugging you to keep the volume low or go inside the room. Now considering this, if a person would like to move out then also the property manager denies stating that it is not allowed to go out in night. It felt like a school hostel and not really a travellers hostel. There is no centralised common area instead several small common areas which again really makes it difficult to interact with fellow hosteller, I guess which is sole purpose of staying in hostel 4.There is no cafe near/ in the hostel, kitchen here is pathetic because they hardly serve anything and the things they serve are really not up to the mark. Host can really work on their communication skill as I saw him misbehaving with one of the hosteller Overall only one advantage is there if you plan to stay in this hostel i.e. you are close to city centre but that really doesn’t make much of the difference and the sights that we have to visit are far off and anyway a person has to either rent a bike or hire a cab for sightseeing. Overall rooms, ambience was good but experience as far as hostel is concerned is not really good and I wouldn’t recommend any of my friends...
Read moreso I have been to most of the gostops properties all over India. I was at GOSTOPS COORG for like around 10 days. as soon as I entered the property I found a guy SURYANSH who is one of the best host I have ever found at any Gostops property, reason being is assisted me to my room and later on whenever I was having any problem at the property he was the person who was making sure that the problem get resolved as soon as possible. not only me but I saw other people also talking about this guy who was helping beyond expectations. than all thanks to the great WIFI connectivity making it a great place for workation as well, as I myself was doing workstation from Gostops Coorg, later on I found to other people on the next day who were trying to make every person involved in fun activities Divya and Shipra, which later on turn out to be great friends with me. they give me good knowledge about the nearby places to visit and took me along sometimes for food which was like the great hospitality in my perspective. so overall service was beyond expectations and the location of property was also good as it is in a peaceful area and not very far from the town like other backpacker hostels. and the interior and furnishing was also great as this property have good space of common area. so overall this was one of the best gostops property for me in terms of location, facilities and hospitality, I would recommend this property for sure to who saver is coming for a backpacker trip to Coorg. all things to those three people...
