FabHotel Prestige Residency - Hotel in Madikeri, Coorg — Hotel in Karnataka

Stayed for 2 nights in Feb'21 at this FabHotel. It's located little more than 1 Km from the city center & most happening areas of the town & 400 meters from Gen Thimayya Museum, a must see attraction for every patriotic Indian. It's a basic Lodge or Guesthouse category property but as it's managed by FabHotels, a popular Chain of 2-3 Star properties across India, they maintain at least the minimum standards set in by FabHotels i.e. Rooms offer a powerful Split AC, 22" wall mounted LCD, Intercom, Writing Desk & Chairs, Comfy 8" Queen sized bed & LED lighting, Wardrobe, 24 Hrs Hot Shower & good quality toiletries that include Shampoo, Body wash & Soap etc. Though room size is reasonably big measuring 10 x 16 feet, the floor plan is clumsy, there by the effective usable room area is just 10 x 11 feet, resulting in crammed feeling with hardly enough area to move around freely. The pics of rooms shown on FabHotels & Booking.com & other online travel portals appear very lively but those are probably clicked long back either when the property was newly built or renovated. Currently the rooms are a bit run-down & in need of renovation as its an old property, especially the bathroom needs to be renovated immediately. The broken bathroom doors & the dangling AC Cables & ducts dangerously passing through the bathroom are very scary. The complimentary breakfast is very basic & limited as guest's have to select a dish from choice of 5-6 options served with .tea/coffee ( No Buffet b'fast ) , served between 8 am to 9.30 am only. The restaurant offers Veg-Non.Veg options & is quite popular among the locals as well as tourists. As the bed is set touching the walls, it's a bit difficult to get on & off for the elderly. There is no elevator at this property. Sanitization protocol for current Covid situation was followed. An Electric Kettle & a side table near the bed, if included, can make the stay more comfortable. ||||The best part of this property is the staff, who is always ready to assist with a smile. Azeem at the Front Desk along with the team handling Restaurant, Housekeeping & even the Bell Boy, attended to all our issues promptly, during the 2 nights stay. ||||For local sightseeing, we opted for a Cab ( Swift Dezire Sedan ) from Mr Balkrishna ( 9483835901) & Auto Rick Shaw & Jeep through Mr Raaz ( 8197445025 ) . Both were reliable & reasonable. The rates quoted by the Hotel guys were a bit on higher side. ||||If you get a deal around Rs 1000/- for a double occupancy room with B'fast, then it's worth to stay here. Definitely not worth spending more as many better options available all over Madikeri . The ratings & reviews on FabHotels website, giving a 4.5 rating out of 5 - Fabulous to this property is false & misleading, as they have only one option to Sort the guest's reviews & that's 'Recommended' ones only. This property scores just 5.5 out of 10 & qualifies as 'Passable' on the other popular portal - Booking.com & this seems to be more reliable & authentic analysis based on genuine reviews in call categories. ||||The detailed review is shared, based on my 2 nights stay, as my opinion to help fellow travelers take a well informed decision without being misled by falsified information available online. Last Thursday till Sunday morning we were there in this hotel.firstly the room wasn’t worth rs 2500 a day coz it was so small with bad ambience. Secondly the worst experience I had here. Two of the cleaner boys stole my mobility while I was out just for breakfast and i given my room key for cleaning purpose. I complained to the manager whose response was so cold.All were involved in it.i kinda tried to scare them about police n then so cleverly the came to my room to search n kept the phone below the pillow n said it was there.Such a shameful act .n they all seemed so cool about it ..i was so worried for one hour about my phone which didn't bother them .on the day we were leaving the culprit had come till bus stand following us .i m sure coz he wasn't doing anything but going in n out of three buses n as soon as we got into out bus he left.I recommend no customer should go to this place so unsafe n...

I stayed at this hotel and at 12.50 at night people started banging my door till 2 am asking for more money that which i had already paid. They were creating a nuesance, and asking us to open our doors and keept banging and harresing us till 2 at night. We were very scared for our safety. then their owner started calling us at 3- Amjad and he constantly kept calling us asking us to open the door and give him money. This went on till 7 am in the morning. the hotel is not safe top stay. do not stay here. They are doing it to most people who aRE STAYING HERE. DO NOT STAY FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. we were up all night praying for our safety and keeping ourselves...
