The price that they'd quoted on the app was already unrealistically high. I had requested them for for an early check in which they declined and the staff was rude from that point onwards. THE WAIT When I came back at the time they'd told me to, the room was still not ready. I had been asking them what the problem was and they refrained from telling me. I did wait for almost 45 minutes, only for them to tell me that the room was not available at that hotel.🥴 Then this receptionist took me on a rash scooter ride through the bustling city traffic in the scorching sun to another hotel of theirs in the city. The wait continued there also. THE FIRST SURPRISE, THANKS TO AGODA By the time I was about to pay, they told me that the rates had gone up. The booking made via AGODA had not been properly updated or intimated to the property. Quoting this they offered me a room at a much higher price explaining that a price surge had occurred as a result of an unusually busy weekend. So I had to pay almost THRICE the actual value of that room.( more than 5000 rupees). Nevertheless I paid the money and checked in as I was very tired and desperately needed a place to crash. We use apps like AGODA inorder to make bookings in advance at affordable and reasonable rates. If they mess up, what more can we do. THE BIGGEST SURPRISE This experience was about to get better folks. The biggest surprise however was awaiting me in the room. The room looked old and in poor condition. There were mold and stains all over the walls. The wood works were damaged. The bathroom had a broken roof and was not clean. And the most grossest of them all -the bedsheets had stains on it. What stains? I don't want to know. There was a musty smell that lingered in the room. Overall, it was a very horrifying experience. And I have to say that it was the worst experience that I've had at any hotel so far. The the pictures will give you have a more clear idea about what actually went down. For a 1000 rs/ 1500rs this room would have been reasonable despite all the flaws. At 5300rs this was a...
Read moreMy review is based on a visit I made in 2016. Things may be different today but when I did the trip back then it was the most highly rated hotel in Mysore on TripAdvisor.
All services were delayed in most cases, cleanliness was missing, and instructions for many routine and regular services had to be made many times before they were finally delivered, if at all. The housekeeping and catering staff were clearly not trained for providing hotel services. Other than the day we checked in, on all the other days after we returned from a visit to the city, we had to wait in the lobby from 15-25 minutes while our rooms were being cleaned. Not all bed sheets and towels were changed every day. Adequate drinking water bottles were not provided every day. The restaurant on the 4th floor was not clean with a film of dust on the tables as the windows were kept open all the time. Food was average. Wifi was available but would not have adequate connectivity most times. The glass panes in one of the toilets was missing and the exhaust fan was not working. The record keeping seemed all manual the food bill which was presented at the end of our stay was entered in a register whose pages were enough evidence of its age. Same with the accommodation record - it is a manual register. That is not a bad thing per se, but this in the top ranked hotel in a large city like Mysuru makes it sacrilegious. Those said, it would be amiss not to mention some of the better experiences. We were provided with some special requests that my child wanted (hot water for milk, some 2-minute noodles prepared in their kitchen, some implements to peel fruits, etc.). The manager was courteous throughout our stay and even provided us a complimentary vehicle drop off to the zoo. He seemed genuine in his belief that the hotel and more so the restaurant was extremely good. So, maybe it was just not up to the level of my expectations being the top most rated hotel at the time. It may have changed since that...
Read moreOnly cons and no pros in the hotel. I booked 2 rooms through agoda and even after informing them in advance that we need rooms on same floor and with lift since we're traveling with senior citizens there were no arrangements. Rooms are never cleaned. Lift is not working. AC not working and making sounds which will hamper your sleep in midnight. Beds are broken, mattress are of worst quality. One can't sleep on them. Bedsheets and Blankets were very untidy and had hairs all over. TV are just a showpiece and never worked. Didn't get a single drop of water from the taps even after 11 hours of check in. Couldn't even use the washrooms. No electricity and had to climb to and fro to third floor multiple times since there were no intercom facility to contact. Broken Cupboards. Door locks are not working properly. Stinking rooms and corridors like something is rotten everywhere. Mosquitos will not let you sleep unless you use coils. Switch boards didn't have proper connection and slots are not usable. Coming to bathrooms, first of all didn't get any water for 11 hours even after informing them multiple times Bathrooms are home to cockroaches and very unhygienic. Taps are turning 360 degrees that too without water. Water leaking Flush and jet spray not working properly
Location Its near to Five lights cirle but very far from all the sights and city bus stop. Nearest is Mysore palace but that too is 2.5 kms away.
Even though the hotel staff at front office were always ready to help and had positive attitude but the peoples at top are least bothered.
There are several hotels available at the same price so please avoid booking this if you are planning to visit...
