Hotel Shivananda — Hotel in Karnataka

Had booked a room in this hotel through online site. Location: It is located at the central place in Hospet and hence you get restaurants and other shops at walking distance. However it is just next to Hospet bus stand and hence you will keep hearing honking of buses all throughout the night. If you need sound sleep, then you should avoid this hotel. Food: No inhouse restaurant. No service in that aspect. So you have to look for other options nearby for meals. Many good restaurants nearby. AC: Air conditioning is not efficient. Had to call the person several times. During power off, AC takes a lot of time (approx. 5-10 mins after power comes back) to start over which is a big negative. TV: Did not see any channels and can’t comment on this. Bathrooms: Bathrooms are neat and clean. Overall Hygienic. Cleanliness: Decent in cleanliness. However bedsheets were not clean. They have a policy of keeping the room keys with them while you go out of room so that they clean the room. However conveniently they do not inform you about it in advance and blames you not to ask and understand the hotel policy. Staff courteousness: Manager – Manjunath has a very bad attitude towards customers who book rooms through online portal. He is not interested in customers coming with online portal and adamantly says that you can leave if you want and get the refund from online provider. It’s better not to go to this hotel through online portal. Parking: Hotel has a very difficult parking. My car’s side mirror was broken overnight. Manager first denied sharing the CCTV footage covering the area to understand the culprit. He even blamed me stating that side mirror was already broken when I arrived and I was just telling a lie. Eventually their security guard admitted that it was broken when he tried to adjust it so that other car owner can park his vehicle. As expected, hotel denied repairing it or replacing it and I had to travel back 600 KMs without a side mirror. I checked out from this hotel earlier and got another...

Let me start with Good thing. The only good thing was the rooms are new and clean. Rest everything is nightmare.

1. Hotel front office staffs are clearly stating that we don't have service (Like, water, towel etc). Hence you have to wait.
2. Check in time is 12 noon, check out time is 10 AM, requested for early check in, by default rudely said not before 12 noon. However we checked in around 2 PM, still towels/toiletries were not there in the room. When asked reception, he said please contact Mr XYZ at your floor. Then offcourse you need to search for the person (If you are lucky enough, you will see him, else not. Probability of getting a person there is 20-30%).
3. Second day after local visit again came back around 2:30 PM, same story, no drinking water (Seeing the attitude of the staffs we were carrying water), no towels. Room was cleaned but pillow was horrible (Pics attached).
4. Evening around 8 PM asked for two plates (As there is no room service hence food has to be ordered from outside) and some water. Staffs at duty just acknowledged and never came back, tried to find him in the corridor but in vein.
5. Overall not a hotel kind of service, just a room without any services, if anyone selecting this hotel after reading this review, please have your own arrangements for food, water. Make the reception staff's life hell for towel, drinking water and anything else related to service.
6. While checking out on 26th Dec, another customer staying in room no 411 or 409 had an argument with the staffs but in vein, his room lock was not working, AC was non functioning and the poor chap has informed this the previous day evening but in vein. He has to go outside and get two water bottles. The reception staff was quite rude to tell the customer that they don't have service facility.
7. Seeing all this, I was surprised that it has certified by GoIbibo and...

You may think there will be always a positive and negative opinions for everything. I decided to pen down my review on this hotel after 3 night stay in this hotel. When I referred in internet for double room with AC in this hotel it was mentioned 825 INR and when I entered this hotel I learnt that the room tariff is 1200 INR (receptionist told that, it was wrong entry in internet). How will it happen with a hotel owned by such a good brand? Later I checked in by paying this tariff. When i entered the room couple of small cockroaches welcomed us!!!||The hotel is very near to bus stand, one can reach by walk, Room has equipped with a TV, efficient AC, attached bathroom with western toilet.. Bed with moderately clean bedstread, I felt the blankets were not cleaned... Overused! On the table the ash tray was full of cigarettes ash, so the cigarette smell was covered all over the bedroom. I think it was not at all cleaned after previous checkout! ||The other mess is about hot water, as there was no supply of hotwater properly, it made us to postpone our departure to hampi, cancel our planning. As we informed to hotel staffs, they started giving different types of instructions to get hot water, turn the tap upwards, downwards, side etc.. They themselves were not clear about the operation Of hotwater tap...||Bathroom was OK, moderately clean, AC duct pipe was connected in to bath room, so always water was dipping inside .... The very bad thing was, the bathroom was partitioned with the other adjucent room's bathroom... So top portion was open... We can hear the sound from the other toilet , question of privacy too... ||The staffs were not acting responsible for few basic issues ... Over all the stay was OK, but not at all value...
