I had stayed at Hotel Viceroy Comforts for 3 days from 27th Jul, 2018 to 30th July, 2018.||The receptionists Sinchana and Ranjana were extremely helpful, hospitable and the check-in was done quickly and efficiently. The general area, passages, lift are all maintained very well. Spacious property and the ambience is good. The room allotted was quite spacious and well-done except for a broken glass in the side wall panel. I reported the same to the reception to be inspected as it could cause grievous injury and as a guest I didn’t want to be questioned about this damage at the time of checkout. However, for the 3 days I stayed at the hotel, no one bother to inspect it. Then came a series of disappointments :||||1. Did not get hot water supply in the bath. Tried informing the Housekeeping which almost doesn’t exist in this hotel as I experienced in the 3 days of stay. Subsequently, I requested the reception and then the hot water valve was opened wherever it is located.||2. On day 1, I had a problem with the flush knob in the bathroom as it was getting stuck and copious water was flowing in the closet which couldn’t be stopped. I brought it to the notice of housekeeping (through the reception as housekeeping never ever lifted the phone whenever I tried for them in the 3 days of stay). They got it temporarily fixed through a housekeeping staff. However, it again repeated in the evening and enormous water got wasted overnight. I again lodged a complaint on the same. Nothing much happened except providing a temporary fix. Hence I requested for a change of room on the 3rd day which they obliged.||3. Daily cleaning of the room, change of towels - housekeeping was skipped on the first two days and they obliged when I requested for it on the 3rd day.||4. Daily Breakfast has a choice of just two pre-fixed snacks apart from bread & butter. Evening snacks options almost don’t exist. I was told I can order tea or coffee.||5. No newspaper was provided despite being requested for choice of newspaper the guest would prefer.||6. You have a problem viewing T.V., the housekeeping will bring a T.V. remote and set it right but take away the T.V. remote. You are only provided set-of-box remote. ||7. The most disturbing (dis)comfort was with their WiFi connection. They provide a daily plan token which the guest has to use daily by entering the login and password. Except for couple of hours of WiFi, I could not use the WiFi for the rest of my 3 days of stay as it wouldn’t connect. At the reception, they did try to help me by providing alternative tokens and in fact, they even tried several times int the 3 days getting my mobile connected with the hotel WiFi but couldn’t do so. They expressed that, probably there was a problem with their WiFi Server. In fact, WiFi was one of the main motivation for me to book my stay at this hotel. This was a big let down !!!! ||8. 90% of the staff don't understand any other language other than Kannada - this is true with the house keeping, room service, restaurant and some reception staff. Is this a 3 star hotel in a tourist centre !!!??? ||||I believe, going by the pre-requisites of a 3 star category hotel which Hotel Viceroy Comforts is, it leaves a lot to meet with the expectations of its guests and also the necessary provisions...
