Had an amazing stay with 10 star service !!
We chose Casa Bella resorts for one day stay on our way home from Bangalore for Dussera holidays. This was an ideal choice as the resort is located right at the border and we only had 3 hour journey to home from there.
Kumily town where Thekkady lake and tourism is focused - is a small town and the area around the town is densely packed. Almost all the hotels around the town that we saw there are small and built for accommodation purpose only. There may be plantation resorts outside the town that are huge but I dont know/ check them for comparison.
This property is a standout property among all the other hotels and resorts we saw around the town. This again is not a large property and doesnt have huge outdoor areas or outdoor activites but is a beautifully built and landscaped property and is a visual treat. They have 5 villas offered in different categories I believe. The rooms are very neat and extremely well maintained.
The highlight ofcourse is the staff and the service who are ready to go the extra mile to make your vacation easy and enjoyable. We had 2 kids and they arranged an additional bed free of cost. The staff called us during our drive to the property and guided us on the route, good restaurants on the way etc. Thekkady has a well organized tourism experience in my opinion. The offerings are well arranged and and we can pick what we want - like boating, jeep safari for offroad experience, multiple activities hosted at a central event center. The staff arranged a jeep safari for us in the early morning and also came aling with us to the event centre - and arranged us required tickets. We were literally blown away by the service. Amazing is the only word.
The inhouse breakfast was also good. It is not a large spread but a small homemade breakfast counter. There were 2 items on the menu along with bread, corn flakes etc and omelettes to order. Tea/coffee were freshly made on order.
For the lunch and dinner they provide inhouse restaurant menu and menu from a nearby pizza-burger place and another hotel and we are free to choose. Since we had small kids we opted for pizza and it was good and very economical.
Hope they keep up the gold standard and I will recommend this place for anyone planning a Thekkady trip and looking to stay...
Read moreThis property is very small, with only 5 rooms in total. We had booked 3 rooms â 101, 103, and 104. Initially, we were given Room 105, but it was extremely stinky, and even the Wi-Fi and TV werenât working. Since their TV runs on the internet, it was completely unusable. We requested a room change, and they shifted us to Room 103, but that room too had an overpowering air freshener smell that made it hard to breathe.
Though the rooms were in good condition, the air inside felt heavy and unpleasant. There was a faint fungal spore smell mixed with a strong air freshener scent, which made it even worse. I had to wear a mask before sleeping and was literally waiting for morning so I could leave the hotel as soon as possible.
Even though Kerala usually has fresh and pleasant air, inside the room it was the complete opposite â stuffy, suffocating, and uncomfortable. I actually had to step outside several times just to get some fresh air. The poor air quality gave me coughing and made it difficult to breathe properly.
They charged âš5,000 per room, which is absolutely not worth it. The rooms may look fine but are definitely not worth more than âš2,500. There are no amenities other than a small swimming pool, which almost every hotel has these days. Overall, it felt like a 2-star property.
The location is another downside â the property is inside narrow lanes (âgaliyon meinâ) with no outer view at all. Food was good in taste but overpriced.
Overall, this was one of the worst properties Iâve stayed in. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are far better, cleaner, and healthier options available at...
