Pizzato — Restaurant in Kerala

This centrally located restaurant in the heart of the city was a convenient choice for a break from Indian food, and overall, it didn’t disappoint. We were drawn to its varied menu and left satisfied with the flavors, though there were a few hiccups along the way.

Highlights:

Delicious Food: The pizzas were the standout dish – absolutely tasty and highly recommended. We also tried a few other dishes from the menu, which were equally enjoyable. Slow Service: While the food was great, the service could use some work. We ordered fresh orange juices expecting them to arrive before or with our food, but they were served after we had already started eating, which was disappointing. Menu Confusion: When we arrived, we were told that Pav Bhaji wasn’t available, but later, we noticed another table being served the dish. This inconsistency was odd and a bit frustrating. Despite these minor setbacks, the quality of the food made up for the slower service and odd menu experience. Pizzato is a very cute and friendly pizza place that is just opening in Kumily. Located a level below the ground floor, it has a drive-in open air parking behind the building.

We were very warmly greeted by Raji and Jason, who prepared the most delicious pizzas for us. Though they are not officially open yet (they said they will probably open post the elections, around 7-April 2021), we found the service efficient and very personable. The pizzas were prepared just the way we like them - simple, baked to perfection, with fresh ingredients and a whole lot of loving care - and served with a sweet chilli sauce and a chilli mayo dip by the side. My son likes his plain cheeze pizza with a thin and crispy base, and they got it just right.

I'm pretty sure they are already the best pizza place in Thekkady - even before they have officially opened!
