Quality Airport Hotels — Hotel in Kerala

Stayed at the Quality Airport Hotel in Nayathode, near Nedumbassery International Airport (Cochin Airport), Kerala, India in August 2021 for two nights. I had an evening flight to Qatar and the place was very convenient to check in, almost 4 hours before on the day of my actual departure. Besides, it was much easier than driving from Ernakulam and mostly getting stuck in a long traffic jam, probably either at Ernakulam North or it could even have been near the popular Marthanda Varma Bridge, near Aluva By Pass.

The booking was made through the phone even before I left my hotel in Ernakulam. It was great service and very affordable to book a Deluxe room even for two nights. Mr. Ashok helped me check in pretty quick and even helped me carry my bags, couple of floors up and also gave me the Wifi code. The hotel was also complying with all the required COVID protocols, including masking, closure of the multiple restaurants or dine-in services, apart from a swim-in bar and the gym. Room service was still on though! Complimentary breakfast was provided on both days, if I remember correct. The hotel deserves special mention for their wonderful and efficient staff, the prompt room service and for their fabulous food. I was very lucky even to try their Onam Sadya on Onam day, which I was not even initially planning. It was yum..yum! Just so you know, this is just a 3 star hotel, though. It's far better than some other posh hotels!

Pros: Great room, very spacious, gorgeous view with pretty pigeons and morning greeting calls from peacocks. Ample furniture, chairs and a small table to have food, a wall mounted TV and a very big work desk, very helpful and maybe even to keep some of your things. The bed was very cozy and quite adequate.

Cons: Poor bathroom design with water overflowing from the shower area and just in front of the wash basin/sink due to inferior construction plan. I almost slipped and fell down soon after I came out taking a bath! I would have been in trouble and duly informed the Hotel reception. If it was a foreign customer, he/she would even sue the property! Water was also leaking near the toilet which already made the dangerous situation worse! The floor was always wet and causing worries and making me feel insecure. Next, I was charged extra for just requesting a printout of my COVID test results, which Ms. Cigy, the Receptionist was quite particular. This surprised me a bit!

The hotel was very understanding to allow my friend to come over and meet me at the lobby. They didn't even charge me an extra paisa or a penny to stay at the hotel on my third day, almost close to 6:00 P.M., when I checked out and also provided me a free ride, even helping me put my luggage onto the the trunk of the vehicle and also repeating the same great service to help me unload my bags out of the trunk upon reaching the airport. I even paid my full Final Bill upon checkout. I have had some totally different fair share of experiences at some other hotel stays even in Kochi or Ernakulam.

Next comes my excitement and the thoughtful decision which I made to pack a chicken sandwich from the hotel so as to avoid buying any food from the airport which is usually known for its rip off prices. It was quite true when I bought a very small water bottle, even less than half-a-gallon cost me almost close to Rs. 100.00, usually much much cheaper outside and even an irony! The sandwich was so delicious and great, just a simple bread sandwich with abundant chicken pieces with apt quantities of either cheese or butter, came as a big surprise and also being very affordable. It was also the promptness, the cute well packed carry out and the great service which mattered the most. I was really impressed.

I would highly recommend Quality Airport Hotel for its great location, sumptuous cuisine and the great overall service they provide. The hotel is also a good safe option for families or even couples. They also have 24 hours check ins and checkouts! It's great and maybe, it's still not...

When we came there the 3 boys at the reception took a long time to check us in but couldn't mention the wifi password or that there is a breakfast (which is not included in our price). They didn't give any information about anything. Then the most horrible part, at 1:30 at nicht the room oy knocks at our door multiple times and then asking how many people checked in and how many rooms we booked. We were quite shocked about being woken up like that. We called the reception and they told us they had a confusion with the roomkeys. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING YOU DO IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!! They knew our friend has a flight in the morning and that we needed a good amount of sleep before traveling. In the morning we asked for the breakfast and they told us the timings but didn't mention that we need to pay extra for it. So haldway through the breakfast the waitress comes and asks the room number and tells we have to pay 220 ruppees each for the breakfast. I would have rather skipped that breakfast if i knew this in advance. The room was not clean, walls are dirty, there is mould in the bathroom and taps are leaking. Toilet flushes forever without stopping. The ac is not working properly. Overall there was not a simple thing good about this hotel for the quite big amount we paid for it. Very...
