Kovai Bhavan — Restaurant in Kerala

Food: We had idly, set dosa and tea from vegetarian section on Dec 24th at around 9.30 pm. The idly and associated (cold) coconut chutney tasted mediocre while the tea tasted really bad, with a tint of coffee. They had a non-vegetarian wing that was not closed but did not accept any order. It appeared that the restaurant just existed to punish customers for patronizing them over Chik King or Burger King.

Cleanliness: We had to demand the few empty dirty tables to be cleaned and staff were looking for responsible staff to clean. They also offered an excuse that it was peak time.

Overall, no service attitude. Have been travelling through this airport for last 18 years and have seen the good days of this food...

First things first, the staff could definitely use some training in customer friendliness. It didn’t feel like they were interested in taking the order, nor were they helpful in explaining the menu. I believe the staff member’s name was Harsha, and she could definitely show a better attitude. Now, coming to the food — the sambar was delicious and flavorful. Quality of food not comparable for the price you pay. If possible try to avoid. A normal masala dosa from any vegetarian hotel outside the airport would satisfy you better. If you have visited the Kovai Bhavan at International terminal departure, please be mindful of the fact that both Kovai Bhavan " Pure Veg " and Curry tree ( where non-veg food is also offered) are connected from behind and I doubt whether both restaurants are served by a...
