Thekkady Woods 3 star resort — Hotel in Kerala

During our Kerala trip (Jan 2013) we stayed at this place during our Thekkady stay for a day.

Location: The hotel is located very nearby to Munnar-Thekkady highway. Thekkady being small, most of the hotels are located in the same area. The hotel is nearby to Periyar Wildlife century, primary attraction of Thekkady.

Service: This is probably the poorest aspect of this hotel. They have a lack of staff. If you place a request, it takes either long time or doesn't get serviced at all. Because we had to leave early the next morning, we had asked for the hot water in the morning, which was never provided. Even the kitchen staff is barely there.

Facilities: The room given to us was fairly small, but enough for an overnight stay. The room had a view of the sewer, unpleasant.

Food: We opted for MAP plan (includes breakfast and dinner). Although the breakfast was decent, they had only two items. Lesser said about the dinner, the better. They straight away told us that they don't have the proper kitchen so to expect the delay in the food.

In summary, if you're not expecting a long stay and just expecting to spend a night on your way, this is a cheap place, don't go expecting any good...

We stayed for a day in this hotel. Hotel is perfectly located near to Periyar National Park, in the city amidst local shops. In the evening after jeep safari/ periyar lake boating, you can stroll around the street enjoying the hot melted chocolate in a cup, do local Kerala handicraft shopping,enjoy street food, sip tea.||||The Hotel is well managed and fits for a 3 star hotel. I have read previous reviews complaining that they do not allow you to take dinner in room.So, everyone out there, yes this hotel has this rule stick in each room door yet they do allow to take dinner in room without any issues. They provide you newspapers so that you don't spill food on white clean bed sheets.They have other rules as well regarding not the use towel after taking Ayurveda massage but didn't get a chance to check this out in this hotel. ||||Hotel is clean, food is good. Never stay at this hotel even the kitchen stinks, and the restaurant is really worse. We can not even stand in the restaurant. The room service is not good. The staff is really bad they don't know how to talk, very unprofessional. POver all experience is really worse. Never stay at this hotel. The hotel staff doesn't know how to talk with customer. The water in the hotel is really dirty complete black,muddy water. No ac rooms. Even the electricity was fluctuating. The hotel staff was being oversmart with customer. Hot water not available. After, fully booking the rooms , they gave our rooms to other guests. No proper management. Staff is also less. No cooperation with the customer. No cleanliness. Complimentary drinks were also not available. WASTE OF MONEY...
