Hotel Ivory Inn Rooms & Banquet — Hotel in Kolkata

We booked through Treebo for 16th Aug'19. |To meet some urgent assignments, we just kept our luggage and pushed off after room no 503 was allotted to us at 12 noon. Drama unfolded in the evening when we returned. It was water flowing through the room from the room AC, there was waste dumps just in front of the room , utterly unclean bedsheets and rude room service staffs, to greet us. An altercation eventually led to a change of room to room number 504, which was equally illequipped. The WC and bath are entirely seperate ROOMS with a wash basin ROOM in between. God knows who on earth uses such facility !! Beds and beddings and even the electric kettle were similarly unclean and out of order respectively and had to ask them to change immediately, which they did with a lot of reluctance. Even the room cafeteria and wardrobe was wanting haplessly !! |The resturant and staffs there were stunners !! They have Puri, Sabzi, Bread Butter and some Juice for breakfast for which they charge 200 bucks per person and vegans will find tough there. They were'nt able to serve omlettes, but have mutton, beef, and chicken overflowing the MC with aplomb !! Staffs are curt, straight and rude- refusal to requests of customers is the normal norm. If they do not have what one requests, they just pull away the menu card from the table and walk off !! |Had to extend the stay in Kolkata for another day, so changed aboad on the very next morning to the nearby...

This could be a really nice place and it is plane that a lot of money has sometime past been spent on renovation.|However, and it is a big however it is really really badly run.|In a double room you get 1 cup 1 glass and 1 towel. You can have water or toilet paper but not both. I asked 3 times over 4 hours for toilet paper and when it arrived the guy looked for a tip. House keeping is terrible, dirty room and trash everywhere in the halls. One time we returned and reception did not even have our key, we had to track down the cleaner. |The room had not even been cleaned. Phones in the hallways ring constantly and the tiny lift is always filled with guys doing interviews so its a case of using the stairs each time. Management should fire the house keeping staff then reception and then themselves. The best thing about this hotel...

I stayed in this hotel four days ago for the second time. My first stay in February 2018 which was good motivated me to book for the second time. But I was disappointed this time! The service at reception is satisfactory though it's quality and service of restaurant and housekeeping went down which needs to improve. Ivory Inn went into operation in 2016 and I found it in spic and span condition during my first visit in 2018. But during my second stay in last week I found its services slided down sharply which is very disappointing. Still I must say that Hotel Ivory Inn has great potential to be in high demand if it heeds to the guests' feedback and target for improvement on its basis otherwise it will be out of business...
