Happy Birthday Elahi !! On turning one they have introduced a range of new items on their menu which are inspired by travel. Some of these dishes are exotic and an absolute different take on the common dishes we try at other places. Elahi is giving you a fine dining experience in Mughlai cuisine at the heart of the city. Situated in Park Circus with several competitive brands around they stand out in their service and ambiance.
What did I try from their new menu?
✓Shirley Temple - A fabulous fruity flavoured mocktail with raspberry and orange. The best part was it wasn't overly sweet and such balanced flavours in the drink which many places cannot make. ✓Chicken Lasooni Kebab - Chicken lollipops marinated in Indian spices with a strong garlic flavour is grilled in the tandoor. The meat is soft and well flavoured, comes of the bone easily. Lovely! ✓Chicken Jahangiri Kebab - This is a boneless preparation of chicken which is again marinated in mild Indian spices and grilled. It is topped with cheese and served with mint and mustard dips along with onions. ✓Chicken Hyderabadi Masala - It's an amazing side! Loved the smoky flavour of the entire dish. A coal is added additionally on the top before it is brought to the table to give that extra smoky aroma. It's a green gravy with coriander being one of the main ingredient. Paired it with lachcha paratha. ✓Mutton hara Mirch Keema - My most favourite dish for the evening. A smoky flavour is infused using snoked hara mirch. The dish is extremely flavourful, however not spicy. It is using some north indian spices which is adding a beautiful aroma to this mutton keema dish. It's an absolute bliss! Paired with this garlic naan. ✓Persian Chelo Kebab - The take on the chelo Kebab is a little different. Instead of buttered rice they are serving saffron rice tossed in clarified butter. There are chicken kebabs, poached egg, salad and the a mutton gravy. Instead of serving mutton kebab, they are serving mutton kebab in a gravy which is quite nice.
Elahi is delivering all across Kolkata through their own delivery channel as well as through the existing delivery platforms. The food is too good and I will recommend you to try their mutton burrah kebab and mutton biryani as well from the pre existing menu.

Read moreCame on on Saptami 2022 afternoon after Royal Indian Restaurant failed to give us tables despite other customer getting a seat before us, despite coming after us.
We came it, there was no receptionist but he came fast and guided us to the right floor. The place is not too big but looks awesome from Inside. To pur surprise, they had a Buffet for a very good price! It had all the items we could possibly try. From Chicken and Fish starters, to biryani and chicken kasha, etc, they had all of it. Starter Service was a bit slow, as I asked for a repeat but they forgot about it and remembered when they saw my face looking at them.
Chicken Tikka Kebab (9/10): Delicious! Perfectly cooked, fresh chicken, very juicy and adequately spicy.
Fried Fish (10/10): This was too soft and perfect! Kept asking them to repeat this again and again. I will come back for this!!
Crispy Corn(7/10): A bit salty but good. Very close to the BBQ nation ones.
Tandoori Aloo(2/10): I don't prefer potatoes in starters as potatoes don't absorb much flavour from the spices/marinade.
Chicken Biryani(8/10): A light biryani, and it was served on the counter rice separate, potato and chicken separate. The chicken in it was a bit hard, but potatoes were well cooked. Good quality rice, aromatic and tastes good. A bit low on salt, which I added later and tasted perfect!
Chicken Kasha(7/10): Pretty decent. Expected a stronger tasting gravy as it is a Kasha but some butter masala. It tasted closer to reshmi butter masala and rezala rather than Chicken Kasha.
Sorshe Fish Gravy(6.5/10): This is a Rohu/Rui curry, tasted average to decent. Fish was well cooked but very small cuts. Also it had ran out before I got it on my plate and it was out for quite a long while before they refilled.
Gulab Jamun(7.5/10): It tasted very good, but expected hot gulab jamun, but it was normal temperature.
Vanilla Frozen Dessert: The only option they had, not happy. It is from Kwality walls hence it's Frozen dessert, not ice cream. But it went well with...
Read moreWaiting time: Was normal. There were no previous booking available they told if you come with less than 3 people. We had gone for the buffet that was buzzing around. 35 mins wait time after reaching. We had gone on a holiday. Abience: Average. The sitting area they have is comparative small, divided into two segments. But it was very flashy. Food and Service: Buffet contained had 3 veg 3 non veg starters. The non veg startets specially the chicken kabab was really good. We wanted to eat more but the service was coming very slow. I had asked for the crispy fish starter 4 times, yet at the end of the day i didnt get it. Main course was good also. Biriyani was good. Muttons were not even staying in the trays for more than 5 mins i think. The first 2 lots of mutton after we sat was really good. But the 3 and 4th lot was HORRIBLE! You could literally tell that it was not biriyani mutton but just muttin that had been boiled only. And it was chewy, not at all tender. The main thing was with their service again here. There was only one chicken in chicken curry and one fish in fish kalia left when i started the main course which i had took(by god grace may be it was meant for me to taste). And when I left the resturant it was still empty. I liked the fish kalia so I had asked for it like 3 times yet no one refilled them. Even the chicken also. Dessert was good. First ever buffet where i got chcocolate+butterscotch ice cream with chocolate sauce, 2 types of moose, and gulab jamoon. Me and my friend literally said, "forget about calories" after seeing the dessert. 😎 For this poor service only I gave it 2 rating, else the taste was spot on, LITERALLY! In 550(including GST) it was quite good buffet if they could have provided...
