A Terrible Dining Experience at Waah Janab, Park Street â Never Again!
Date: 3rd February 2025
I had the absolute worst dining experience at Waah Janab (Park Street) on 3/2/25. I had taken my wife, brother-in-law, and in-laws out for dinner to celebrate my in-laws' anniversary, expecting a pleasant evening. Instead, it turned into a disaster.
Starters were decent, but the nightmare began with the main course.
We ordered a chicken dish and a beef dish. The gravy arrived, but no naan to accompany it! After waiting and reminding, when the naan finally arrived, it was plain, undercooked, and tasteless.
I returned the naan, expecting a proper replacement, but what came back was just as the previous one. When I questioned the server (Arman) he casually brushed it off, saying it was fine. Was their tandoor not working, or did they just not care?
The biryani we ordered earlier was never prepared! After a long wait, the server suddenly informed us that the biryani was still on dumâwhy take the order if you couldnât serve it on time? I had no choice but to cancel it.
By the time the naan finally arrived (one piece at a time!), our entire gravy dish was cold. What kind of mismanagement is this?
To top it off, the staff was unapologetic. No effort was made to rectify the situation or even offer a sincere apology. When I mentioned the experience at the billing counter, the cashier, Shahalam, instead of addressing the issue, said, "Aap review daal dijiye, owner ko bhi maloom hona chahiye yahan kya ho raha hai." Even their own staff has no regard for the restaurantâs reputation!
The disrespect, carelessness, and complete lack of hospitality made this my first and last visit to Waah Janab. If this is how they treat customers, they donât deserve anyoneâs time or money.
Avoid this place at all costs. A celebration turned into a nightmare, and I wouldnât recommend this place even to my worst enemy.

Read moreAccording to many food bloggers, Wah Janab serves one of the best Beef items in Kolkata. Hence this place was on my wish list for long and I had big expectations from them. We took random dishes from their menu.
Beef Makhni Kebab @ Rs.130 (5/5) Creamy, smoky and flavourful. I've never tried such soft beef in my life. Laccha paratha and this should be heavenly good. It definitely mates my expectations unfortunately that ended here.
Beef Bhuna @ Rs.100 (2/5) I was thinking of thick rich black smoky gravy for bhuna but it came just opposite. Sweet and sour tomato-based gravy with 4 small pieces, didn't impress me much.
Beef Biryani @ Rs.130 (2/5) Unlike the kebabs beef was undercooked, stiff and very chewy. Biryani rice was ordinary, not very spicy and resembled Kolkata style biryani. Potato was soft and well cooked. But I would prefer Zam Zam any day.
Conclusion I tried variety of beef dishes that these people are famous for but except the kebabs nothing was worth the hype. Pricing is cheap, ambiance is so so, service is okay so you can give them a try but food quality will be on...

Just 2 minutes away from 7 point, Wah Janaab is a two storeyed restaurant popular for their Beef dishes. Wah Janaab celebrates Mughlai Cuisine with ace. From 3 pm to 3 am, you can visit and have some good food any time from this place. Though most of their dishes are based on Beef, they serve Chicken too.
I visited Wah Janaab last Monday. The dishes which I tried are,
⢠Beef Platter ⢠Beef & Chicken Samosa ⢠Tandoori Chicken ⢠Murgh Lasooni Kebab ⢠Murgh Zafrani Biryani ⢠Beef Biryani ⢠Phirni
The Beef Platter was quite delectable with 4 types of Beef Kebabs. The beef was quite soft and creamy. This is my first-time trying beef so I was a bit scared to try. But I can surely say that it was quite a good experience for a first timer like me. I really liked the Murgh Lasooni Kebab. The Beef Biryani was really good. And the Phirni was the perfect way to end that day.
Do visit Wah Janaab if you are a beef lover, you will surely love this place. Thank you Wah Janaab for...
